Stayed for a week for my 50th birthday and wasn't disappointed. We had stayed at the Playa del Moro in July and enjoyed our stay and this is their sister hotel - just 3 hotels along the seafront.

All of the staff could not do enough for us and I was surprised with candlelight and complimentary bubbly at dinner on my birthday. We had not informed them so it was a complete surprise and very nice of them.

Don't take beach towels as these can be hired and also bath robes.

The spa and indoor pool are very nice and the whole hotel is kept really clean and tidy.
The location is fab with the sea right in front and the shopping precinct right out the back.
We love Cala Millor and either this or the Playa I would highly recommend.
Our return transfer was organised for us without us asking and on offer also was the staff organising early check in, to prevent having to join the long queues at the airport.

Although the clientele is mostly German or Dutch (think we were the only English people there) this made no difference to our stay. The guests were all really friendly and we passed pleasantries with everyone we came into contact with and we greeted each other in our own languages which was fine. Although the food catered for these nationalities we always found plenty to eat and never went hungry. There are far too many desserts to choose from so having to try a sample of each was not very good for the waistline :-)

We had a late flight home so asked if we could keep our room on which we were able to do at no extra charge.

There were mostly over 50's and some disabled people staying at the hotel and these were catered for adequately. Indeed Cala Millor is greet for these groups because it is so flat and such a large bay that walking from one end to the other is not only a great walk but relatively easy for all concerned.

Can't recommend this hotel enough and we are really looking forward to our stay next year.

My husband aaand I have just returned from this hotel. When we arrived on 25th September we were the only two people on the coach for this hotel. A porter met us, took our luggage and gave us very refreshing glasses of orange juice. The reception area was most impressive, We were checked in by a very rude female receptionist who handed us key cards for room 125. Since I had requested a room on the 4th/5th floor I pointed this out. She did not answer my question but merely repeated this is a side sea view room. As I was repeating the question she spoke over me and repeated her spiel as though she had learned it and did not understand my question. We were tired having been up at 2am so we went to the room
At first glance the room seemed alright. It was very clean as were all the areas we were in throughout our stay. On entering the bathroom we were surprised to find a piece of wood attached to the bottom of the door no doubt to cover some defect. The supply of toiletries was minimal to say the least= one 15g soap, one 30ml bottle of shower gel and one 30ml bottle of shampoo per person plus a small foam shoe cleaner. When we had used one and a half bottles of shampoo this was not replenished although the gel was replenished when we had used both. There was a hole in the ceiling which ,I believe should have had a cover of some sort. The towels and bath mat were thin and hard. There was no non slip mat in rthe bath and after the first shower when I slipped we requested a mat which was duly delivered to our room. Tghe thermostat in the shower did not work well and was inclined to fluctuate while being used which was not very good.
One of the shelves in the wardrobe looked as though an animal had chewed the chipboard so we did not use that side, furtunately there was enough space on the other side. One of the pillows on the bed was only about 2 inches thick and rock hard so after the first night we requested another one which was supplied,
The side sea view was obscured by palm trees and the people in 126 looked straight into our balcony while we looked into that of 124 so there was no privacy. The balcony did not have a light and the floor level of thebalcony was lower than that of the room while the patio door runners were high so it was not easy to step from the room to the balcony and impossible after dark.
The dining room was lovely and we could sit anywhere for breakfast which was an excellent meal with an abundance of food to choose from. We had a designated table for dinner. The soups, salads and desserts were excellent but the main courses left a lot to be desired, there was pork almost every evening and frozen chips but the boiled potatoes were hard and the other vegetables were either just blanched or overdone there was no happy medium. Although there was a wide selection of food I did not find this course very good. I notice too that the percentage for food in the Thomas Cook brochure has dropped since last year so I suspect other people have found that the main course let them down.
All the staff other than that one female on reception were very pleasant.

Room Tip: Request a room above the third floor and do not request an omelette at the Show Cooking area because they are enormous and very stodgy.

On arrrival the reception is beautiful, definately 4 star. Check in was quick and receptionist very helpful. I had booked two rooms (very early) and requested they either be next door or on the same floor. We had a room on the 6th floor and one on the 1st floor, which did make it very difficult. I think the hotel didnt make any effort to accomodate this.
Rooms are not 4 star I would only class these as 3 star. Quite dated and need of modernisation. First floor room was quite dark and had many fixtures broken, air con vent was black!!
6th floor room had an amazing sea view (I paid extra for seaview) again in need of modernisation.Dining room is lovely with a separate dining area overlooking pool. We found that too hot & stayed inside. You are allocated a table for your stay for evening anywhere for breakfast). Waiters were all friendly. Food was mainly German, but there was always plenty of it and was hot, with show cooking every evening. There is no childrens food eg, fish fingers, chicken nuggets. Dessert was the same thing for the 10 days, albeit lovely, but a change would be nice.Breakfast was always great with plenty everything to suit anyone.
Pool area was fab. There was no rush at 6.00 am to get a sunbed. Plenty of umbrellas & sunbeds you could get a bed at anytime of day. No blasting music playing, it was really peaceful. There was an indoor pool, jacuzzi & spa which was also spotless. Beautiful beach two minutes walk away with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas.
Overall the hotel is spotlessly clean,If you want English then this isnt the hotel for you. Majority are Germans, we had no problem with that, they mostly all polite. Very few children here, Entertainment was quite limited, with pool aerobics, table tennis, french boules & pool vollyball. Reps worked hard, they were very good with the children that were there.
Cala Millor is lovely, clean flat resort which joins Cala Bona, if you want a quiet drink you can if you want busy pubs then you can as well, it offers everything for everybody (including scooter and go kart for kids).

Room Tip: Try and avoid 1st and 2nd floor, some have limited seaview

The Sentido Castell de Mar was a great choice for our family of two adults and 2 teenagers. Family room was spacious and comfortable everything was spotless and of good quality, toiletries in bathroom, lovely towels, etc. Location wise the hotel was in a great situation with the beach right in front and shops and bars behind but there was no noise disturbance. Entertainment wasn't in your face but there if wanted and there was something to watch in an evening. Excellent food a wide choice for all tastes with something extra each evening be it chocolate fountains or pancake man! Exceptionally well run restaurant. Pool was lovely and no sun bed hogging. Overall a good choice of hotel in a nice resort offering value for money.

Room Tip: Family room was well located on the first floor easy access to restaurant but tucked away down a corridor with no noise.
