The hotel is located at the far end of Cala Millor so is in a quieter area of the resort.
It appears to cater more for German guests as the week we visited there were very few British people staying. The food and entertainment had a German bias and the poolside entertainment was all German focused.
The hotel is well maintained, the rooms well proportioned and nicely furnished. The communal areas and the pool are kept spotless.
The staff were all very welcoming and friendly.
There were always sun beds available around the pool, although because we visited during the first week of October, the pool snack bar was closed so snacks weren't available throughout the day and drinks had to be sought from the main bar inside the hotel.
The food was to a high standard with show cooking daily and lots of fresh fish and meats available cooked freshly for you. Again, a slightly German bias but all very tasty and varied.
We stayed all inclusive and would certainly suggest this option as locally produced spirits are included and tasted just as good as the named ones. The bar team are very generous with their measures so be careful!

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor with a pool view - much quieter plus a lovely view of the sea as well

My partner and I first stayed here 3 years ago and returned last week from our second visit the food and rooms have improved this time round but the age group unfortunately was not for us as it now seems to be elderly german people staying which was not a problem but the down side was lack of evening conversation to be had, still a lovely hotel with super staff and a great position, just not on our list anymore.

What's good?

The gorgeous beach, so near, so blue and so inviting.
The food, good quality and presented very well, something for everyone with lots of choice.
Nice sunbeds around the pool and the pool bar was open which is great if you want to pop back for a drink until October
Fridge in your room was very welcome too.
Bathrooms and shower lovely.
Reception staff friendly and helpful.
Room cleaning, fantastic!
TV had BBC1 & BBC2 :-)

What could be improved upon?

The price you have to pay for the safe, so expensive
The entertainment is awful....sorry.
To find a bottle of water in your room when you arrive would be lovely, cost very little, mean so much.
Snacks,

Having stayed at several of this groups hotels we were looking forward to returning to Cala Millor, probably our favourite resort and staying at the Sumba which, in the past, was always full or too expensive. emailed the hotel in advance asking for a room with afternoon sun. These rooms are on the Sa Coma side of the hotel. Some guests had a problem with overbooking and had to spend 1 night elsewhere. I didnt hear any complaints so assume they were looked after by upgrades etc.
To be brief. Room comfortable and spacious with reasonable balcony.
Beach (probably the best in Majorca) 50 yds away.
Plenty of sunbeds with no mad early morning rush.
Food the best of any all inclusive i have experienced. Always tables and never rushed.
Bar staff efficient and attentive serving decent drinks.
Once again, congratulations to the management for tremendous teamwork and devotion to duty. To use a football analogy you always know when a referee has had a good game when you dont notice him. Same goes for the staff who diligently go about their business almost in the background.
Provided there is affordable availability we will return next year.

We booked a one week stay here half board with Jet 2 Holidays. On arrival we were informed that there was no room available for us for 24hrs. We were move to a different Hotel and upgraded to ALL INCLUSIVE at both hotels however we were unable to fully enjoy our first 24hrs. The Hotel however is clearly experienced in this as we were taxied between both hotels and there were no hitches at check in and were able to enjoy the facilities. The Hotel is on the South Western edge of Calla Millor a ten minute stroll from the town of Sa Coma and 5 Minutes from the Main Shopping area of Calla Millor town.

Hotel Sumba when we returned was spotlessly clean and the staff attentive and efficient. It appears to be owned by a German Holiday Company. The room we were allocated had an adjoining door to the adjacent room which was of poor quality and did not prevent noise from the occupants carrying.
The food was of a very good standard but was very repetitive with Pork on the menu as a Carvery dish 5 out 6 Nights and fish done in the same sauce 2 Nights although to be fair there was a large selection.

All Bar and Public areas were kept spotless but the snacks available as part of the ALL Inclusive option was Limited. The Outdoor pool itself was quite small and only suitable for cooling off the indoor pool was not much bigger neither suitable for swimming. Most sun loungers were located away from the pool. The indoor Gym was of a reasonable standard but machines and weights could do with a bit more maintenance to make them more efficient.

There was a German Oom-Pah-Pah band playing at the poolside bar each morning at 11am a bit of a novelty the first day but a Royal Pain in the BUTT thereafter. Evening entertainment was the usual mix of entertainment staff miming to Grease, ABBA . or Disco but on two evenings there were two Live tribute acts which were actually of a good standard.

Overall not many faults at this hotel a lot of minor issues which if addressed would in my view make it an excellent hotel

Very nice hotel, very clean, good food with lots of choice. Loads of food at each meal time. Animation team work very hard and produce a higher quality entertainment as a consequence.

Good indoor pool, outdoor pool a little small.

All staff very friendly and hardworking.

Beds are very hard and unforgiving to one's bones.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor room to get a sea view not obstructed by the trees.

We booked this hotel through Thompson holidays uk, although the hotel was great we did have a few issues. The children club was only open for 1.5 hrs in the morning and in the afternoon. We stayed in sep although the weather wasn't great we al had a great time. The hotel did have an inside pool jacuzzi sauna and massage and gym. The outside pool was not heated so it was a little cold but one you wee in it was ok.
The restaurant was fantastic, it's all buffet And the quality of the food available was fantastic from king prawns to smoked salmon. They do have themed nights 3 time a week which was good.
The staff throughout the hotel were polite. And willing to help with whatever you wanted.
The only problem we found was the amount of German guests and they think they rule the hotel as they were in majority .
If you stay as a family 2 adults 2 children do not stay at this hotel as they will put you in one room and you won't have enough room for anything.
Thompson and thomas cook do not have a rep at this hotel which we flung annoying as we wanted to do a few trips but unable to do so. Should you need a rep you have to ring the uk at your expense. And they will get one for you even though the rep is only at a nearby hotel in the same resort.
