“Quiet, stylish seaside hotel”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

Friendly and stylish hotel, excellent breakfasts with delicious orange juice and fresh fruit and small cooked dishes. Very quiet as out of season and no lunches or dinners but there are very good tapas bars and restaurants in and around the village. The hotel pool is fine for lazing around, town beach is wide and flat and a few minutes walk down hill, but best is Cala de Enmedio, about 40 mins fairly easy walk down the coast and accessible only on foot or by boat. Beautifully quiet and clean. Only gripe was that the pool is rather overchlorinated, but everything else was superb - better than its 3 stars suggest.

Room Tip: Sea views from the top floor are excellent, lower floors have more direct access to the pool. Ask f...

This hotel is without a doubt more than 3 stars. Very personal and warm welcome. Large, spacious room with balcony with (partial) view of the sea. Bathroom with jacuzzi. Unfortunately no towels by the pool. Breakfast is served at the table and is sufficient. About 10 minutes walking distance from a sandy beach.
This hotel is located in a very small village that mainly consists of holiday homes/second homes nearby parque Cabo de Gata.. Not really something for a family with children. Rather ideal for a honeymoon trip or just for a few days away for two. Various hiking trails in the area. After a few days we felt we had seen it all. Of intrest are small cities nearby such as San Jose and Cabo Gata.
Unfortunately this hotel does not serve lunches or dinners. And restaurants nearby are limited. The best restaurant in the neighbourhood is located just outside the village on the road to Carboneres. Also the restaurant in the middle of the beach was good. We would not recommend (seen from the hotel) the last restaurant on the beach.

We had a very pleasant 3 night stay at this lovely contemporary hotel. Our room was spotless with a view overlooking the pool and sea. It had a spa bathroom with lush white fluffy towels and designer toiletries. Breakfast for us was lovely and beautifully presented. Not a "free for all" or buffet in sight! Pool was warm. Our host was impeccable and unobtrusive. If it is a "get away from it all" break you are after then this is the place to go. Fantastic walks and scenery. I would say a car is necessary. Only thing missing for us was a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

The three star rating is deceptive - this is a 5 star experience. Amazing views across the Mediterranean from rooms that are beautifully appointed, right down to the Bulgari toiletries.

Breakfast was absolute perfection - fresh fruit, toasted ciabatta, coddled eggs, miniature pastries, fabulous coffee (best coffee we had in Spain).

Delightful host, so obviously proud of his property. We were there out of season, so only one or two other couples staying - but we'd bet that the personalised attention is there even when it's busy. Perfect place for a romantic weekend away, but the village also offers much for the entertainment of families.

One night was definitely not enough - we will be back.

Room Tip: Best rooms are on the top floor.

We stayed in this hotel for only 1 nignt during our travel in Spain. The hotel is 11 km from AP7 in a small village on the beach.

What a treat! There were only few people in the hotel, maybe because it was in May and in the middle of the week.

Our room was facing the sea. The view is amazing. The hotel is very clean, bathroom is big and has a jacuzzi. Service was wonderful. Breakfast was included and it was amazing: fresh fruits, juice, very tasty.

We had dinner in the restaurant on the beach. Very good fresh seafood.

After a long driving we had a very relaxing time at El Tio Kiko.

The only negative, maybe, for some people is the stairs. There is no elevator. It was not a problem for us.

We loved this hotel.

Room Tip: If possible get a sea wiev room.

June 2011 4 night stay with wife.

Overall: I highly recommend this hotel, clean, modern, very comfortable and quiet! An excellent retreat for a holiday and or weekend break. Hotel is "tailored" for young to mature couples without children.
(This doesn´t mean that children are not permitted though because they are)
Hotel Service is personalised & professional.
Breakfast is deliciously fresh and tasty; varied and more than generous for most palates.
Hotel is a 10 minute stroll down the residencial street to the seaside village of Agua Amarga.
Pool is lovely and spacious.
Free car parking

Room Tip: Ask for deluxe double room overlooking the sea

Situated on the edge of a small village in the Natural Park - only downside is the steep walk back up from the village/beach - (I was 5 months pg when we stayed, and have to admit I puffed a little bit!). Well appointed comfy rooms, with balconies over looking the sea and huge bathrooms with jacuzzi baths. Highlight has to be the breakfast, which was the best we had in our week long tour of Andalusia. Freshly squeezed orange juice, a platter of fruit brought to your table, freshly prepared hot dishes and a round of delicious pastries.
