We went there last night because of the good reviews. We arrived at 7pm and ordered I ham salad (lidls cheapest!) two home made meat pies (looked like fog food!) three "entrecôte" steaks but only rump available!! Totally tasteless and a cat had free rein of the restaurant!! We were finally served over an HOUR later the excuse was "everything is cooked fresh" we were on the verge of leaving! The owner did not charge for a bottle of wine in way of apology but too little too late as far as I'm concerned!

I have visited this bar on many occasions, the staff are more than helpful and attentive, the food is excellent! Especially the Cod and chips (my favourite), all food is fresh and cooked to order and arrives piping hot,
Tina the owner with her husband Dave have made this venue a number one attraction with top acts from the coast, some of these are free entry which in this day and age tells me that they are giving people something more than other bars are, and not purely driven by profit. The bar is open seven days and family run with their daughter working many hours keeping customers served with drinks and waiting on tables.
Their cheerful and polite attitude makes any visit an experience to remember.

The Olive Tree is a new experience for most ex-pats in Spain. The new owners have made a tremendous effort to provide an inland venue where we can enjoy good food, top quality entertainment and alovely, laid-back atmosphere.
The terrace is large and comfortable but probably on the wrong side of the road for those who come to Spain for the sun and then spend all their time avoiding it.
The bar/restaurant is comfortable and homely with none of the "don't touch" feel so many new places have. The food is of good quality and freshly cooked.
I enjoyed a very leasurely meal and a draft cider (how rare is that in Andalucia?) in a low key environment that I found absolutely delightful. I don't know if children are discouraged but there absence certainly made my meal much more enjoyable.
If you like a nice, homely restaurant and the opportunity to enjoy top flight entertainers from the coast without actually going to the coast - the Olive Tree is for you.

I frequent the Olive Tree regually as a local resident and owner of a small local radio station. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the owners and staff are efficient and friendly. The furnishing and decor are perfect for a place like this. There is a huge outdoor terrace if you don't want to sit insde when it's hot and the entertainment is such good value..Often these are top class acts which come up from the coast (which is most unusal for any bar in Coín).and apart from one or two exceptions is absolutely free. The food is very good value... Where else can you get a huge breakfast with everything for five euros? There are daily specials and great English desserts. The drinks are priced very competitively with a bottle of local beer for 1.50e I've even asked for a certain brand of non alcoholic brand of beer and this was duely forthcoming.. In short a great pace to visit whether a local or on holiday in the area.
