We stayed at Casa Limones for two weeks early October 2015.

The directions provided by Maureen take you right to the door (definitely need the directions as off the beaten track). Stop off at Mijas on the way if you have an early flight to Malaga, Mijas is worth a wander around but quite touristy. Malaga airport is only about 30 minutes' drive away but the property feels very secluded from the hustle and bustle of the Costa Del Sol.

The accommodation is basic with comfortable sleeping arrangements, small bathroom with shower and everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Ample books to read and didn't need to use the Kindle all holiday. All spotlessly clean. Maureen provides a welcome pack on arrival which is a nice touch. If you are after a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, big fridge freezer, restaurants close by to walk to, then this is not the place for you but that is why we loved it. There is free wifi if you want to keep in touch with the outside world! Casa Limones has rustic charm and is the perfect setting to chill out by the pool, watch the sunset, take in the wonderful views from the terraced areas while enjoying el fresco dining with a glass of Cava or two. The only downside was we were not able to use the BBQ which was a shame but this was due to the risk of wild fires, there was an electric grill but just not the same. My only criticism would be if the weather is inclement there is not really an option for dining inside as it is geared up for eating el fresco however there are plenty of places nearby to eat out.

The swimming pool is lovely and Maureen supplies towels. The first week of our holiday the couple in Los Olivos used the pool once, the 2nd week another couple stayed in Los Olivos but we never saw them at all so it was like having our own private villa with pool. Very relaxing enjoying the October sunshine (still very warm at that time of year) and reading by the pool or lazing on a lilo in the pool. Some days it was hard to pull ourselves away from it.

The town of Alhaurin el Grande is about 10 minutes' drive in the car with a couple of good supermarkets and the freshest seafood you could wish to buy, amazing value. We ate like kings with the abundance of local produce on offer.

Some lovely places to visit in the surrounding area; Marbella old town is very nice with lots of places to eat, Puerto Banus to people watch, look at the yachts and fast cars you can't afford, Ronda a lovely old historical town, El Torcal Natural Park for amazing rock formations and walks (although it poured with rain while we were there so quite dangerous walking as the rocks were very slippery). However, we enjoyed coming back to Casa Limones every day and away from the crowds.

Bobby the boxer is adorable and loves attention if you are willing to give it.

I could take or leave the Costa Del Sol coast line, not really for us but the scenery inland, the small Andalusian towns and villages are lovely and I would certainly return to Casa Limones for a relaxing week or two away.

Thank you Maureen for a lovely stay, we hope to return one day.

Room Tip: Do not hire a large car. Car parks in major towns are tight, anything too big you will struggle to park without taking the side off the car!

We had the most wonderful stay here in this beautiful place, and Maureen was such a wonderful and friendly host!
On arrival we were greeted by Maureen, who showed us to our cottage (Los Olivos), which had everything we needed for our stay. She made us feel very welcome and even made us a lovely welcome hamper, the perfect thing to arrive to after our journey, so we didn't have to rush to the supermarket straight away.
The guest book inside the cottage had many recommendations for places to eat and visit nearby, and helpfully listed everything from the nearest supermarket to local shopping and pharmacy etc.
This is the perfect place to visit if you want to relax by the pool and take in the stunning views with a glass of wine and a good book. We enjoyed many a lovely evening cooking on the BBQ and dining outside in the company of Maureen's pets Oscar the cat and Bobby the dog, both lovely friendly animals and very well behaved.
We hired a car so we could drive from the airport, which was an easy drive following Maureen's instructions. It was also helpful to have the car as this is a rural location, and we could drive easily to the supermarket, which wasn't far, and also to surrounding towns and beaches.
We enjoyed visiting the nearby town of Ronda, beaches, and El Torcal, a beautiful nature reserve with great walking trails, views, and a cafe at the end.
This really was the perfect holiday and I thoroughly recommend to all! We will definitely be coming back soon!

Perfect location for relaxing and getting away from everything, can't believe it's just over half an hour from Malaga airport. The view from the verandah at Los Olivos is simply stunning, hardly another villa in sight, and sunsets behind the mountains add a special magic. We watched several raptors circling in the sky and many swifts. The swimming pool across the (quiet) road has similarly great views and is perfect for a day's sunbathing. So many nice touches, from the welcome pack to neatly folded pool towels. Great location for days out too. Ronda, Mijas and Alhambra were on our itinerary and easily reached in an hour or two. Shopping was a doddle in a nearby supermarket where the food was of a good quality. We ate very well. The helpful file of local attractions and services had the added benefit of removable pages to take with you, brilliant idea. Our host was very approachable and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and patiently answered our questions during booking and before arrival.

Room Tip: Casa Limones is right next to the pool, but Los Olivos has better views.

Enjoyed our few days here in May. Fantastic weather which we could enjoy right up to the sun set thanks to the hill top location - loved the stunning 360 degree views. The beautiful, cosy cottage which was perfect for our needs. The nearby village of Mijas is very pretty and a trip to Ronda is highly recommended. Maureen is lovely and helpful but also leaves you to your privacy so you feel like you're in your own private hideaway. The highlight, however, has to be the gorgeous friendly boxer dogs who we very much wanted to take home with us! Would highly recommend to anyone and look forward to a second visit!

A lovely out of the way gem. In a quiet spot where you are left alone with your thoughts. Beautiful views and sunsets. The only sounds are the bells on the sheep flock and the gentle breezes through the olive trees. Handy for the beach one way and the mountains the other (great for cycling and mountain climbing). It's the ideal setting to press the 'reset' button and think about life. Also Maureen is a gracious host. She left us lots of treats and goodies in our Welcome Package. I miss this place.
