“Fantastic place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2010

My fiancee and i stayed at the Grangefield over Easter week. PLEASE do not listen to people stating that the food at the resort is terrible. We ate quite often (breakfasts and lunch) at the resort, breakfast consisted of a buffet (7.50) which ws very tasty, lunches were varied and all we tried was delicious. we ate dinner at the restaurant on our second night (if you like steak, try the Ostrich, mmmm), they had live entertainment while you ate which was marvellous. The room we had was great hoever do be aware of you are on the ground flooe. It is very very noisy, FORGET ANY LIE IN'S.

It is really not that far a walk down to Riviera Del Sol, and on the way there is a really friendly bar called Bunkers bar (Quiz nights and bingo weds and sat). Try Bar Oro on the way which is owned by an english couple, its a great laugh. Do go to La Cala, steer clear of THE Paramount bar if your not into LOUD brash and Chavvy english people.

All in all i would go back, in fact i think i shall move there.

We were one of 2 couples that rented a 2 bedroom unit for 2 days. Now we have read that the complex is isolated and far from the beach, shops etc. We would have to agree however we had a car and didn't have any issues with distance. In fact, with a car everything is very near. The supper market is a great place to stock up on food as well as right beside it is a take-out chicken place that has the best chicken in town.

The unit itself was clean and very spacious for the 4 of us. Since we only used it as a base to go touring to Gibraltar and the white villages in southern Spain, we didn't have an opportunity to use any of the facilities.

The only negative aspect we had was not entirely the resorts fault, but the directions to the resort we had were very vague and Spain is notorious for the lack of street signs. We had to stop twice for directions, so maybe it was us but get a GPS to be on the safe side.

Well me and my wife traveled here at the start of Novemeber.

Got a deal through Avanti Travel with Kleeneze ( yes the door to door catalogue)

See my forum topic on how we travels there

Anyway just to let everyone know and make sure they are clear about it. This resort is a Time share Complex run by Pletchey Travel. So if you are like us and got a cheap holiday to this place and do not have a timeshare be sure to set a side and couple of hours as they try to sell you a timeshare. We went in with our eyes open so were never gonna buy and were straight with the pletchey reprsentives from the get go.

Anyway once the apartment we were stayed in was a two bedroom apartment with absolutly everything anyone could want. The whole complex as a whole was spotless and very well kept. Bear in mind there are a lot of steps and hills in the sourounding areas so this place is not for people who have trouble with either.

The facilties in complex while good were not excellant.

1. Complex Shop There is a shop were the price are reasonable enough so that you can get all the basics on your first day before you explore the local supermarkets.
2. Poolside Bar There is a poolside bar which is open from Breakfast in the morning till around 6pm ( We were told this opens at night in the high season but as it was November it shut at 6pm) The bar also does breakfast. If your lazy like we both were take advantage of the deal and get your breakfast all week. (It fills you up for the day). The bar also does food during the day but we didnt really bother with it then.
3. Restaurant - The restaurant was basic and to be perfectly honest was a bit overpriced for what you got. Is worth your while if your not cooking to explore further.
4. Bar - There is a basic bar that covers all the essentials ( Beer and Spirits lol) They do have entertainment during the week and it can be a bit cringeworthy at times. Anyway we paled up with a few people and made our own fun. Hence we were the last ones leaving a few times during the week. Take note the bar does close at 1am.
5. Ther is some facilties that we did not use like a indoor fitness complex and pool. Also a pool table etc .

Again as I said the complex is quite isolated but a short but hilly walk or a 6 euro taxi ride you can find two gems in Georges Bar and Davids Bar. The food in Goerges was cheap and good and both served a good pint.

Make use of the bus to Fuengolrola if noy driving . It is only a couple of Euros and you can vist the markets in both Fuengolrola and La Calla. You canget a list of market days from the reception.

On the whole we had a very good holiday with 26 degree sun in November !!!. Had a good time and on the whole the holiday is what you make it. You cant complain when you get it on the cheap lol.

If anyone I new got the same deal I would recommend this place even with it being isolated

Have Fun

Dave and Carolyn

What a place you are half an hours walk to get to the nearest supermarket. the shop at the apts are very limited on food .we opted to pay for half board as there is absouloutly nothing rondabout the apts .then we discovered if you did not like the half board menu you can change this for a sweet and dessert.then you can pay again for a main meal from another menu.they know you havent got any choice if u want to eat .Either that you have got to walk or pay taxis.when we arrived at lunchtime we were told our appt would not be ready until 4 or 5.When we complained we were told to get in touch with barrhead travel what an attitude the female patricia had she was very abrupt and ignorant as was Antonio the waiter he just about threw your food down on the table.

There has been some very unfair & unbias reviews
This is a TimeShare(Holiday Occupency) Complex. Yes it is Isolated for a very good reason guys. Away from all the hustle, bustle, noise of of course unwanted guests.
A short taxi to the beech 6 Euros. But unless you want to do all the tours, explore ETC
Then get a hired car. Remember the £ Sterling is getting hammered, So the exchange rate for us is dire. Many of you have written that it is exspensive here,Considering you would of been recommended to stay for £49.00 pp, and listen to a prep talk for an hour, What do u want. If spending money is an ISSUE then go elsewhere All Inclusive.
The resturant Staff are Fab, The Food is excellent. The Rooms spotless.
Complex with tropical Gardens all round, with 2 pools with on duty Life Guard
Mini Golf, Tennis Courts, Lesure Centre, Gym, Sauna Etc.
The Reception staff are very tentitive, Evening Acts are provided, Which the hotel do not have to supply, Remenber its A timeshare Complex. But they do..
As for all the INFINITI Sales Team Many thanks for not beening Told, Forced & pressured into anything, If its not for you just say No they leave you alone to enjoy your stay. I will admit im not the first to praise sales or reps, but I will here.
Golf courses are situated throughout the area.
We had a great time & so will you.

Travelled with my wife and her parents. Accommodation was very good standard. Fittings and fixtures were all as they should be. When we complained about one of the pots, a brand new replacement appeared within 30 minutes.

Two outdoor swimming pools and one indoor kept my wife happy. Restaurant food was unappealing. There is nowhere else within easy walking distance when you have two olderly folks with you to eat so we ate in the apratments most nights. A car is essential as many others have said.

There are a number of organised trips that leave from the resort bu the only one we took was to Granada and the Alhambra. This was a good trip and good value.

The resort's idea of entertainment does not meet what we are used to in European resorts. Live entertainment was only on 3 nights per week. There were no organised activities during the day.

The fitness centre is a poky room with very little to keep a person occupied if they have regular gym membership at home.
