Just stayed there for 3 Days in a Studio Apartment ( Minor problem with Air conditioning) but they did move us on the final night. Apartments are very nice, although Bathrooms are compact. Book a top floor if yo want a reasonable Sea view. Good location for all things. Staff really friendly , nothing a trouble. Breakfast Service a bit slow but when you get it .... faultless fresh produce worth waiting for. Sunday Lunch seems very popular with residents & local non residents. They have live cabaret acts too . We were overall pretty impressed by this well run privately owned Hotel. worth checking out.

We have been to this hotel many times, mainly for Sunday lunch. The service has always been spot on but alas on this occassion it was sadly lacking.
It would appear all the older, experienced male waiting staff have been sacrificed for younger, inexperienced female waitresses who basically haven't a clue. I certainly don't appreciate somebody leaning across me to collect somebody elses dirty plates.
The only time they looked busy was when the owner and his wife, and I believe their daughter, came to sit down for their lunch. Before that a gaggle of them were just standing around laughing and joking.
The food was excellent as usual, apart from a lukewarm soup starter, but drinks service was very slow. Requiring a 'top up' necessitated asking, instead of the waiter/waitress noticing you were getting low, as in the past. Once ordered they took an age to arrive. A visit to the bar revealed only 2 bar staff preparing drinks for a full complement of customers in the restaurant. The bar staff definitely looked overworked and unable to cope, with a huddle of waitresses asking where their orders were and the bar covered in empty glasses.
I believe this was noticed by John, the owner, who said he was going to have a word with staff about it but was told by his daughter to 'Sit down. I'll deal with it'. What did she do? Nothing, just sat at her table.
We left feeling disappointed that one of our best restaurants had let standards slip so low.

When we checked in we were enthusiastically sold that nights dinner/cabaret. We bought the dinner entertainment package for the "Jersey Boys" show at €40 per head. When we arrived for dinner we were seated in the main dining area in an other room from the entertainment. We could not see the show although we could hear the music. So we paid €40 per head, like everyone in the audience but only had the table d'hote meal.
On checking out we made the above points to the receptionist but she did not respond. Our proposal to pay for a table d'hote meal was also ignored. A disappointing evening that was handled badly at checkout.

My husband & I, my Son & his partner have just had the most fabulous time at the El Oceano Hotel which I noticed is Trip Advisor Hotel winner. It was Perfect.
From entering the hotel you are met with such friendliness by the owners & all their very attentive staff. The Food & presentation & service is Fantastic, everything is of such a high standard, tall the facilities are second to none, the Spa is wonderful also. This hotel is
'simply the best'.

Room Tip: choose a room overlooking the sea with a gorgeous balcony to sit on & listen to the sea.

We write this to tell the world what a fantastic place el Oceano is :) My new husband and i knew we would get married from the first time we stepped into the restaurant 5 years ago but we only truly experienced the hotel in all its magnificence when we got married there on May 3rd this year. Glenn the hotel Manager ensured absolutely everything about our stay was flawless. All of the staff were helpful, friendly and made our wedding soo memorable. The food served at our reception is still raved about by our guests and the cocktails at the pool bar are worth the trip alone!! The hotel is stunning, the setting, the pool bar - it's all simply breathtaking. Our suite was massive with an in-room jacuzzi and a private outdoor patio facing the sea. There is not one thing we would change about this place and we look forward to returning every anniversary! Well done el oceano, you do it soo well and thanks to all of you for a wonderful wedding day x

My husband and I were looking for somewhere to take my mum to celebrate her 93 rd birthday - she hasn't a huge appetite and her favourite "meal" is afternoon tea !

We searched the Internet and sent several e mails to various hotels without any luck and in some cases not even a reply - but couldn't find anywhere in the area at all :0(

We met up with some friends who has been staying at El Oceano and they told us what a fabulous place it was - so my husband telephoned them and asked about afternoon tea. "No" they said we don't .......... But we have an English chef - we will talk to him and ' phone you back. So waiting with fingers crossed - we got the call - " of course we can do it - what would you like - all the usual things ..... Sandwiches - scones and jam, a selection of cakes - and tea ?"
That sounded wonderful and the price was very good too - so we booked it !

Well today's the day of the birthday :0) we thought we would make it extra special, so we booked in for a treatments at El Oceano spa just across the road, for massages and mum had her hair and nails done.

When we were finished crossed the road to our Afternoon Tea - this is one of our favourite things - we have had them around England and the World and over the years have had one or two, so we were in anticipation what this one would be like bearing in mind it's not something this hotel usually does, and we couldn't find anywhere else locally who did them at all, and it is a traditionally English thing.

Well, I was stunned - firstly the setting it amazing. Tables within a stones throw of the sea and on a particularly hot day the covered terrace was very pleasant with the open sides. We were shown to out table with a spotless white laundered cloth and were seated. The chairs were comfortable and the afternoon tea service began....
We agreed that it all be served at the same time and so it was brought out ..... A selection of sandwiches - cheese and ham (proper tasty ham - not that dreadful wet stuff) tuna and mayonnaise and egg and cucumber. These were followed by fruited scones and jam and mascarpone - these were good too - not dry and crumbly like some we have had. Then a plate of dainty cakes, a square of a lemony Madeira cake. A meringue with strawberries, a really scrumptious gooey chocolate one I- i had to fight my husband offs hat one ! squares of puff pastry filled with summer fruits and the plate garnished with some more fruits - it was AMAZING !!!!! Beautifully presented, and tasty - it was wonderful.

We were offered a choice of teas - mint, green , red, English breakfast - there were loose leaf teas served in a special mug and filter - and very tasty, and we were served several pots of hot water to keep replenishing our mugs. We really appreciated that on this hot day.

It was a fabulous experience and mum was over the moon with it all. A wonderful treat in stunning location. All I can say is roll on the next birthday and a HUGE thanks to the chef and the staff for making it happen, I can say it was one of the best we have ever had, and beating one which we have been to recently which is run by quite a well known chef which was tasteless in comparison. I would strongly recommend this one.

So, if you want to try this Afternoon Tea - ring up and book it - remember no one else in the area does anything like it and they don't show it on their website as ours was the FIRST one they had done. So give them a call - make yours the second one, I would strongly recommend it and am sure you will like it as much as we did . If your feeling a little indulgent - book for a treatment at the spa beforehand - check and see if they have any special offers.

you won't regret it - call and book in soon for this wonderful experience ! Encourage El Oceano to make this a regular feature - am sure you will enjoy it too :0)

I would just like to say that my partner and I and various friends have stayed at this hotel numerous times. John the owner and Glen the Manager have always made us most welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are courteous, most helpful, and extremely friendly. The food is fantastic, offering a selection that might not be on the menu, as in the case of my elderly Father. The rooms are spacious, clean, bright. The entertainment is great with singing and dancing, for all eclectic tastes. The location is beautiful. James S,[as in gone down hill] is talking complete rot. No wonder he was there solo.
