“Must do!”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

I have played and stayed in most golf resorts around the malaga area and I would now like to announce that the the Europa course is my favourite course I have played. (5 Star *)
It is tough but fair! The other two courses are enjoyable. America a little rough in certain places. Asia mainly tough holes.
The hotel is very clean and 3 mins walk to the pro shop. Nice pool area and spa. which is free for a couple of hours a day (if you stay at the hotel)
A must is buggies, very hilly!

PS, Dont go to Santana...very shabby and expensive!

“La Cala Mijas”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

La Cala has a lovely little village with a real spainish feel. the beach is fantastic pedros bar excellent for lunch. looky looky men really get on your nerves as do the massage girls.but if you do want to buy from the looky looky men offer a really low price. I paid 5euros for a sarong that he wanted 25e for!! tha beach restuarants are good but overall we found spain to be very expensive to eat out average one course, bread and wine 20e. however glass of wine only 2e or bottle local 8e . supermarket basics are more expensive than at home. we went 18th september had 2 cloudy mornings but overall perfect weather sunny until 7.30pm local buses and trains first class cheap and clean. go to Mijas by bus its well worth the visit. change buses at Fuengerolla very straightforward and cheap. we rented an apartment from owners direct spacious slept 4 had 2 bathrooms and lovely clean swimming pool which we had to ourselves every afternoon and evening. next door to our apartment was the restuarant Ole the best food ever great atmosphere. Just walk up hill behind Mercodona supermarket and you will find it.

“very quiet”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

This resort has a few restaurants and bars but is not as lively as we expected. Food tends to be all snacks although there was a fish BBQ on the beach which I presume was the catch of the day. Parking is a problem. You'd do pretty much the whole place in a couple of days.

“Lovely but Quiet”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

I had a lovely week in La Cala, the beach and the general atmosphere of the town was still quite Spanish- although it catered for tourists, it didn't feel like it had been overrun by the English (as it seems in much of the Costa Del Sol). There were plently of restaurants, which were all reasonably priced and offered a wide variety of delicious foods. The only criticism would be that there were not a lot of bars- if you just wanted a drink after your meal, we only found two or three places (including a very traditional, cheap bar whcih was essentially a beach hut right on the sand, which was rather good!), so it was hard to do something different every night. Generally though, an ideal resort for people who still want to stay somewhere a bit more traditional, but don't need too much in the way of entertainment.

“Nice town - difficult to park”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

Nice town to visit in the evening. We ate here a couple of times in the evening. The best meal we had was a restaurant on the beach that specialises in fish (cant remember the name, but towards the far end of the market stalls) but you walk through the restaurant and out the back on to their terrace. Good here was great and good value.
