The Valparaiso is a lovely restaurant and Rafael and Vittorio are the perfect hosts. However, we have visited three times this year and, on each occasion, have been disappointed with the service or the time we had had to wait to be served.
This, I have to say is unusual. We Have eaten at the restaurant many times over a number of years and perhaps we have been spoiled by our previous experiences?
I can't really put my finger on the problem other than to say that they must have cut down on the staffing levels in these difficult economic times?
I think on our last visit, the number of large groups that they had to serve(tables of 20+) contributed to the slow service to the smaller tables. That, and the 'bawdy' singing and swearing of the all male golfing group seated nearby, simply spoiled our evening. Such a shame.
This is a fabulous venue with a great reputation which could be lost a lot quicker than it was gained. Time for the Brothers to sort it out I think.
