CLC Club La Costa World
Ranked #2 of 39 Specialty Lodging in Mijas
Reviewed April 9, 2013

As per the majority of the other reviews, we stayed at the club la costa for one week.
The accommodation was very good we had a large living room and separate kitchen, upstairs two bedrooms and bathroom, excellent sea views and our own large terrace with table and chairs and two sun loungers. The resort was very clean and the staffs were very helpful.

We have 2 children aged 12 and 14 who enjoyed the dedicated heated pools and shared pool by Zackary’s bar. Plus plenty for the kids to do , Pool , table tennis ,Air Hockey " still have the bruised fingers", tennis, 5 a side footie pitch and much more.

There is a truely Spanish restaraunt virtually on site, which has Spanish Flamenco dancing on a friday evening and different entertainment all week , we enjoyed a trip over there in the evenings for a quite drink and to watch all of the Horses.
Horses: you can go on a trek thru the countyside / back roads, on beautifully kept horses , they have different shapes and sizes to match everyone, so you must have a go , a brilliant experience. cost 24E each, pricey but fun.

The restaurants on site are a bit pricey ,but he quality is good.

The evening entertainment was mixed but if you get a chance to see "MICHELLE JANE " she is a true professional , she had a list of approx. 144 artists " which she said was not her full repertoire " and could sing various tracks from each artist .... Amazing, a very good singer too.
She did all this with Two toddlers dancing around her feet and she kept them entertained as well.

MJ also does a Film night where she sings the great songs from "millions " of films in the SUNSET bar, which is a cashless bar , just the opportunity to spend spend spend on your room number and pay when you check out... dangerous :).

A trip to Fuengirola costs 10E in the taxi, a bit pricey considering its 10mins walk along the sea front and you miss the BIKINI BAR ,which is a lovely bar on the beach, which serves good food and cold beer, you can sit on the beach or inside in the shade and feed the sparrows by hand. Cool!
Fuengirola at first view looks very tacky, I agree it does look that way , if you stay on the sea front , but if you walk on a few hundred yards towards the Marina then turn inland, there is a beautiful Square with the church at one end "Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Rosario".
Around this small area you have a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere , restaurants , Moroccan Shops , Fashion Shops etc etc all in the side streets. Worth a trip but don’t take your credit card :)
Overall a clean place to visit, with good food and plenty to do for all ages.

only down side . As part of a promotion week we had to attend a presentation on joining clc.
We were obliged as part of the promotion to attend a "short " presentation with clc, we were told would last a morning , which is acceptable and probably interesting ,but was in fact a 09:15 start and returned to the apartment at 16:15.
I had done my research and the web site had said they would be trying to sell me an apartment, which to be honest we could really go for, but instead it was the new timeshare “Points” which was definitely Not what we wanted. The sales pitch is very good and well directed with the manager drifting by to reduce the price if they see you are stalling .
My only advice is start with a very low number when they ask “ How much do you spend on Accommodation Only" , for Holidays
The next 6-7 hours is based on that figure , and watch for the 5% inflation on the standard number s but not on the POINTs numbers  all good fun.

I have tried to cover areas missed in previous review so I hope this helps.

Room Tip: We stayed in 519 which had a dedicated heated pool ( but all apartments have specific dedicated pool...

We stayed here as part of an RCI timeshare swop and really pleased with our visit. The resort is
built into the hills on the Costa del Sol and is nicely landscaped. It is nicely landscaped and a pleasure to stroll around. It is hilly, but they do have a little train that makes frequent stops around the resort for those who struggle to walk. The resort is within walking distance to Fuengirola - we did it several times - so it is easy to pop into town for lunch or shopping.

On site there is a little boutique that sells souvenirs, a little coffee shop that has a few essential groceries and a little grocery store which we used frequently that had everything we needed and wasn't wildly over priced.

We didn't think that the main restaurant at the resort, Zachary's, was very good - better and cheaper food is available in town, but it is convenient.

We stayed in units 176 and 178, which we were given especially to help us with the fact that several in our party were mobility limited and couldn't do stairs. They were very nice - 2 bedrooms (one king and one twin beds), kitchen and dining area, living room and bath. We also had nice balconies that looked out to the water and had a table that seated 6 for lunch al fresco !

The kitchens were well appointed and we were able to make a proper dinner without any trouble. Also had a dishwasher, washing machine and filter coffee machine. The bathroom had a hair dryer and good water pressure.

We had maid service twice in the week and plenty of towels, but no beach towels (although these were available to rent).

We had access to a "private" pool (just for Sierra Marina people) as well as use of heated Marina Del Sol pool. Both were nice, although the heated pool was a little crowded the weather being a bit cool and the fact that it is next to the bar. There is also access to a beach, but we didn't use it as it was too cold the week we were there.

The staff on the reception desk were very helpful: let us check in early and were friendly and responsive to all requests for assistance. No problem with check out either.

We made several trips, to Alhambra, Rhonda, etc and the resort was well located to make the trips.

l would recommend the resort for a fun and comfortable stay and would be happy to go back.

Room Tip: The units (176 and 178) we stayed in were about to be refurbished and they were pretty good already...

The restraunts on site are abit pricey Overall good accommadation if you have a car to get about.

Room Tip: Just ask for a sea view and you wont be dissappointed.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment in the CLC Marina Del Sol as part of a CLC promotion week. You are obligated to go to a meeting with the CLC world group in the promotion week which is a long and drawn out affair but I think if your are interested in joining CLC it is definitely worth listening.
Everyone in the resort were extremely helpful to us especially the porters.
The resort is quite hilly but the two mini trains are a great way to get around and one of the trains also has wheelchair access and if the weather is not good there is a mini bus that runs around the resort instead.
There are several heated pools within the resort and we were lucky enough to have one right outside our apartment, so we could still enjoy the pool in March.
There is free wifi in the different resort reception areas around the resort which is great, the reception areas are also really comfortable so it is really easy to sit and use the wifi.
There are several restaurants and cafes within the resort, some of which were closed when we were there as it was off season, the Safari restaurant is excellent, the staff are very accommodating, polite and very friendly. The breakfast is delicious, with great variety.
There is a small shop, SAMs pantry, which has most things you would need during your stay and they also have a nice selection on cakes. There is also another shop near the entrance to the beach which has a lot more and is a little cheaper, there is a train stop near by so it is easy to get to.
The town of Fuengirola is really close and you could walk along the beach but a taxi to and from the resort is not very expensive. Fuengirola market is quite good, there are lots of stalls although a lot of them are the same. The fruit and veg stalls are great tho with a lot of variety. The zoo in Fuengirola is defiantly worth a visit too.

We were glad to see that you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for your kind comments about our staff. Feedback from all our guests is important to help us maintain our standards and services. Our promotional holidays are an opportunity to sample what holidaying with us is like and it is always nice to see positive remarks about our resort. As part of the holiday we do ask people for a minimum of 90 minutes of their time to take part in our presentation during which we explore with them the sort of holidays they enjoy and what they would enjoy in the future to see whether we can tailor a product that would suit their need. We do this in as interesting and enjoyable a way possible and include a guided tour of the resort so we appreciate that this can take time. it was nice to see that you felt that for those interested in joining CLC World the presentation was worth listening to.

We decided to stay at CLC at Marina Del Sol and it wasn´t a disappointment. We were worried that check-in was only at 4PM and we had early arrival. But as we arrived at 3PM, they checked-in us a bit earlier. We had 2 bedroom apartment with a big terracce and view to the sea. It was a good choice for 6 people. The price was very reasonable and it was well located. Also we were lucky with weather, water in the pools were quite cold. So the heated pool was very convinient, favourite one for our kids. The staff was friendly and helpful. the apartment was well equiped, we didn´t miss for anything really. We definetly consider CLC as our accommodation during our next trip to Costa Del sol.

got the phone call offering this accommadation for £99 for the week as long as we attended a presentation to try and sell holiday club. This lasted about 5 hours but some people were there longer. I did not buy and there was no hard sell although they did try again a couple of days later. The accommadation we stayed in was not there best and was not 5 star more like 2 star. Good 30 minute walk to the middle of Fuengirola and the taxis were a rip off paid 10 euro for a trip less than 5mins. Would not go back.

We stayed in the marketing suites on the Marina Del Ray .The accommodation was a one bed apartment overlooking the sea With a complementary cot bed for our two year old daughter. The accommodation was well maintained with good cleaning standards. it had all necessary modern facilities necessary for a young child
The complex is within a walking distance to a sandy beach across a major road
You will need a car in order to travel to nearby facilities as There's not much happening within walking distance
