We booked the flight, transfer and hotel with Travel Republic for the first week in April, which was very reasonably priced. We stayed half board in a studio with a sea view in a quiet area of the marina resort (room 120). We emailed a request for this and although they said they couldn't guarantee it, they delivered. The porters took us and our luggage to our room and picked us up again on our last day (make a request at reception). You have to be out of you room by 10am but you can use a room for 30 minutes during the day to get changed. Again, make a request at reception (do this near the beginning if you want a good time slot).
We arrived at 10.30pm and in our email correspondence they said we could have sandwiches after this time. When we got to reception they said food had finished. The next day we spoke to the restaurant manager (who was very accommodating) and he let us have lunch instead.
The apartment was very spacious with a lounge, small kitchen and dining area. The TV included BBC, ITV, Sky 1, sky sports 1 and two film channels in English. The cleaner came in once throughout the week, which was fine for us. There was a balcony with a lovely sea view, where we could sunbathe. (We did have the use of two of the club la costa pools but the one near Zachary's bar can get busy). One down side to the room is the walls are very thin, so you can hear the apartments both sides and above. We did have to use our ear plugs on one occasion when the two lads next door had guests and played loud music until 1.00am. We could have complained but didn't want to spoil their fun.
Do not leave any valuables or cash in your room. We were ok but on the second day we went to reception on two separate occasions (to use the free Wi Fi) and both times a different family was reporting that they had all their cash stolen from their room. There is a safe available in the room if needed.
We used Zachary's for both breakfast and dinner. At breakfast each morning, we were the only people who didn't have a rep attached to us. We were left alone. The breakfast buffet had all the usual hot a cold foods available (cereal, fruit juices, fruit salad, tea, coffee, toast, ham, cheese, croissants, bacon sausage, beans and egg) which was fine. There wasn't a hot breakfast available on Saturday morning as this must have been the reps day off. Evening dinner was a three course meal from the menu. Some of the more expensive meals had an extra supplement...More
