“Best Holiday Yet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

I went to this hotel through diamond resorts timeshares and i was not disappointed yet again!
Yes the hotel is right next to the busy main road but this did have the benefits as the bus stop to Marbella and Fuengirola were just outside and to be honest you couldn't hear it. Getting to Fuengirola only costed 1.20 euros each way and 3.00 to marbella!
The resort it self has 2 large pools and 3 children pools. There is a multi sport court and 2 tennis courts. There is an onsite childrens club which is open everyday for different activities. There were a lot of young families and lots of children so if you wanted a peaceful and quite holiday this might not be the place for you.... however there was means of getting around this by visiting one of the large pools out at the back of the resort were it has grassy areas and was beautifully quiet.
The onsite restaurant was open from 9.00am to serve breakfast then right through till 10.30pm to serve lunch and evening meals. We ate here a few times and found the food really good but got quiet boring after a while. Dining in was fine we had all the amenities that you could want including a dish washer and washing machine. Everything was of high quality and i can safely say it had the best bed i have ever slept in while on holiday. Even though we was in a studio apartment there was plenty of room and lots of storage and our own balcony.
I know there are reviews saying that they didn't like the high security and i must admit it got abit annoying having to enter through gates but that only put our minds at peace as i never felt the worry or been robbed.
The best part of the holiday is that just a 1 minute walk out of the hotel to the right and up some stair were a row of fantastic restaurants ranging from Spanish to Indian to Chinese.
Yes the beach isnt the best and the sea is dirty but it was good enough to lounge around. You can get to Fuengirola cheap enough to use the many beaches there.
Getting to the resort from the airport by means other then a 44 euro taxi is really easy. the train station is right outside the airport. You by a ticket to the last stop, Fengirola and then a taxi from there that cost 12 euros. Cheap and easy way to go!

I defiantly recommend this hotel for young couples and familes.

Room Tip: If your just a couple go for a studio as there is plenty of room. 1 and 2 bed apartments are on 2 fl...

Stayed for two nights in a studio apartment as was over for a wedding. Lovely place, easy to find, well sign-posted off the motorway too! Receptionsit was very welcoming and loved the fact I could park my car right outside my apartment.#

The studio had a small kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster etc and all the crockery thrown in too. Iron & ironing board and mops were all provided and the bathroom with tub and shower head was impecably spotless. Lounge and double bed would be perfect for a couple with a sofa and sining table in the corner. Even had my own balcony looking out onto the tennis courts with outside table and chairs too!

This complex has indoor & outdoor pools and and also crazy golf so there would be plenty for the kids to do as well as evening entertainment too. Down side is that if easy access to the beach is your thing then its a 20min walk over the other side of the motorway! Nevertheless, It was just right for me and would stay again!

Went to this resort as a guest through the timeshare sales. Very comfortable 2 bedroomed house but tiled Flores everywhere was a nightmare with wet feet and young children. Tidy and well equipped and resort very clean. Wrong side of dual carriageway which runs whole way along the coast but worth a visit. Did get plagued with timeshare staff but expected that.

Room Tip: All rooms refurbished so all good.

Spent nine days at LABC. Myself, wife and two grown up daughters. Staff as always were efficient friendly and helpful. Special mention must be given to Natacha at reception who was always helpful and a mine of information.
LABC is very much self contained and if your looking for a hectic night life look elsewhere. Food in restaurant is good but not particularly cheap..
There is entertainment every night at the bar but it finishes around 11pm
the rooms are excellent with everything you need. Ours actually had 2 balconies one of which was attatched to master bedroom. A lot of the apartments overlook the pools or tennis courts etc ( see pics)
Security is excellent at the resort.
If your looking for a base to explore Southern Spain or a place to relax by the pool and just enjoy the sun then this is the place for you.
We had a hired car and ate quite often in Mijas Cala ( 5 minutes away) Never had a poor meal the whole time we were there.
Your a short journey to most of the major resorts local markets and I can particularly reccomend a vist to Mijas Pueblo

Visited Los Amigos in early June for a 10-day stay in a 2 x bedroom unit with my husband and Mum. The unit was well-equipped and although not luxurious, it had absolutely everything we needed (and more). 1 x shower-room and 1 x bathroom, TV's upstairs and down, MP3 docking stations, a fully functioning but small kitchen and a private balcony (where it was great to sit and eat breakfast) etc. Because the resort offers nightly entertainment, it can be a little noisy until 11.00 pm (strict shut-off time) - the Wednesday evening singer (ex-Heatwave) was excellent!
The resort is perfectly situated for touring the sights (especially if you have a car) - Gibraltar, Granada (Alhambra), Marbella (including Puerto Banus), the Caves at Nerja (superb), Mijas Pueblo etc. etc. All in all, Los Amigos is a great base - comfortable, clean and just right (when the weather is good). Enjoy!

Room Tip: The resort is quite small (positive) and so there aren't many 'quiet' units on-site!

My wife and my daughters planned a family holiday in Spain on the occasion of my 70th birthday. We were nine of us including two sons-in-law and three grand daughters.
Los Amigos Beach Club was selected to be our base from the Jun 06 to Jun 11 with the intention to explore Mijas village, Malaga, Gibraltar and Granada.
We arrived from Delhi at mid-night in Malaga after a tiring 15 hour flight including stoppages. After going through the formalities of hiring two cars which were booked in advance, we arrived at the resort at 0200 in the morning. We were promptly attended to with a welcome drink and allotted two apartments as per our booking. That is where we got our first and only shock! One of the apartments was being occupied by some other guest. Obviously there had been a big goof-up by the management. After lots of apologies, alternate arrangements were made for part of our team in a different resort run by the same management. A cab was arranged to ferry them to the alternate resort. Well, in this process a few more hours were lost resulting in entire night going by. In the process the first day of our holiday was lost. Fortunately, that was the only glitch during stay in the resort. The following day one of our apartments was up-graded.
The resort per se is beautiful located amidst lively surroundings. The apartments are placed along the periphery overlooking a pool. The pool area becomes the hub of all activity in the resort. The resort also has an indoor pool. The apartments are well equipped with a Jacuzzi in the balcony. Within the complex is a super market stuffed with daily necessities. The resort plans varies activities to make the evenings special for the guests. The best was the free wine and cheese tasting event along with the flamingo dances arranged one afternoon. The staff is extremely hospitable. All in all we had a wonderful stay at the resort. We highly recommend this resort for a befitting holiday.

Room Tip: Overlookig the pool.

I first visited Los Amigos back in 2003, and was great to have another opportunity to visit again in June this year. I actually live in Spain but in a different area, and had family come from the UK and met them there for a great stay. In all we rented 3x 1 bedroom apartments, which very fortunately happened to be all next to each other which was very convenient!

I found this resort to be very laid back. Which for me is great. It's not an 18 - 30s with drunk people and loud entertainment through the night. Evening entertainment finishes at 11pm. If people want to party longer than that, then Fuengirola and La Cala are just a few km away.

The resort itself has plenty on there, two pool areas, one of which is more lively with a pool bar surrounded by apartments, and the other at the other side being a lot quieter and more grassy and natural.

Being June (and having had a particularly cool spring in Spain) the pools were a bit on the chilly side. However there is also an indoor pool, and jacuzzi, sauna and massage room. So if the weather isn't so good and you still want to swim, that is always the option! However I was blessed with particularly good weather that week!

There's also tennis courts and a gym and plenty of things to do with various activities being arranged.

The apartments were fantastic, very clean and were just what we needed. They were equipped with fridge/freezer dishwasher, oven, microwave etc. So you can make your own food rather than spending on eating out all the time.

The only gripe we had was that the fridge freezer at my brothers apartment was smelly. Which we did report, but sadly was never solved. But other than that, out of the 3 apartments we had, we didn't have any problems what so ever.

The staff there were extremely friendly, and actually genuinely looked to be enjoying their job. I actually thought to myself, what am I doing sitting in offices all day every day when I could be working in a place like this! There was a very positive vibe and happy atmosphere!

There is an onsite bar/restaurant called La Casita which I found to be really good. I expected their prices to be through the roof but they were not too bad at all, and the food was fantastic. This is where the entertainment is too, and there is usually something going on in the afternoons and evenings. There are other restaurants around, which is why we didn't chose the half board options, as personally we like a bit of variety. But for those that don't want to leave the resort, and happy to eat at the same place. Then the half board options can be good value.

The pool side bar is pretty good, but I found their cocktails at €6,50 rather expensive. However they were very nice!!

There is a beach nearby taking an underpass under the A7. It isn't a fantastic beach though, and a bit rocky. But there are plenty more up the coast if you're willing to travel a bit. There are frequent busses to Fuengirola and to La Cala.

Overall though, had a lovely week at Los Amigos with the whole family and would love to go back again!
