“Unbelievable value for money”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

Had a 3 night stay in 2 bed / 2 bathroom apartment (Goya block) with our Spanish friends.
Every single thing you could want is there. Towels in abundance, cleanliness, superb pools and amenities.
As it was October they let us have the room until 5pm on our last day, we should have checked out at 10.30, for free and they just could not do enough for us.
Superb location for views and for exploring the beautifully untouched town.
Spain as it should be, to explore the town either walking or on horsedrawn carriage is a pleasure in itself
Not just looking to go back but looking to actually buy a place there!

Stayed in a Platinum apartment, could not fault it. Super views from the balcony. We're to told to turn the air con off at the fuse box so the electric bill was fine at €16 for the week. Nice and quiet not complaints. Some good places to eat. Really enjoyed our time there, would go again.

Six of us stayed in a Platinum apartment. The apartment itself exceeded our expectations, the views from the balcony were absolutely stunning. There are 3 great swimming pools (1 indoors) and again spectacular views. The sauna steam room & gym were brilliant. The apartment itself was large and airy. Good sized bedrooms and really good sofa bed. The apartments was equipped with everything you could possibly need in terms of crockery & cutlery and kitchen equipment. We ate in one night & had roast chicken from the chicken shop about a 15 minute walk from the apartment. There are so many restaurants you're spoilt for choice. There was an excellent free flamenco dance show in the town square. Mijas itself is beautiful and very friendly. Not a huge amount to do, just enough for a week's mooching about.
I would have given this 5 stars except for the need to pay for electricity. We used the washing machine just once and put the air-con on for an hour a night and the bill was £24 for the week. If you were staying mid-summer the electricity bill could be considerable.

After arriving in Dali 22, it felt oppressive. It was dark and unwelcoming. Admittedly the view along the coast was spectacular but did not help the fact of the stuffiness in the apartment. There was noisy aircon units in bedrooms. The living room had a roof fan but ineffective. I asked if we could be moved to an apartment with aircon and was told it ws not possible as the resort was fully occupied. Eventually we were moved to an appt with aircon. The upside it was cooler and more bearable, it was out on a limb so very quiet apart from the occassional rattle/bang from the underground carpark gate. The downside it had no view of the coast but folk had a view of you on the large terrace. Nowhere for private sun bathing or relaxing with a glass of wine. Not a relaxing week!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with open plan kitchen/lounge. This should ensure you do not get one with a kitchen b...

We went as MacDonald Resort timeshare members, so can't comment on normal rental cost, but can certainly say how helpful the MacDonalds staff were in arranging our visit. The resort is in a quiet location, but only just 100m down the hill from the village centre. We didn't hire a car, as there is a regular and cheap half-hourly bus service to Fuengerola bus interchange, from where you can get bus or train connections easily.

Our apartment had a sunny and private balcony overlooking the pool, with full sun until early afternoon. Spotlessly clean and friendly, helpful staff at reception. The village centre is just a few minutes walk, with scores of places to eat out, and great variety. We were there for their annual festival celebration, with funfair, parades and concerts, and had a great time.

Would definitely hope to return - if possible for a fortnight next time, as a week goes too quickly in such a relaxing atmosphere.

Room Tip: All rooms have views towards the coast, some balconies larger than others, but all with sunshine unt...

Am currently staying at La Ermita in Mijas. Very impressed with the apartment - spacious, well equipped with contemporary, stylish furnishings - with the most amazing view down to the coast. The village is very pretty with lots of restaurants, cares, bars, etc and all within a very easy walk. So lovely not having to drive anywhere! The pool areas are great with sunloungers aplenty - although it is September and not quite so busy. Even today when we have had rain, we have used the gym, steam room and indoor pool. This would be an ideal place for most people - although on a steep hillside there should be no problem for the older generation as there are lifts and lots of pretty terraces. Bar and cafe near the pool is very useful, although it does close at 7 pm. We would certainly have no hesitation in holidaying here again and bringing our family and friends..

We picked up the hire car at the airport intending to do some sightseeing during our stay in Mijas. However, having parked in the underground car park on arrival we didn't use it again until the journey back a week later. Why? because the room and balcony in our 'platinum' airconditioned two bedroom unit was immaculate, well furnished with a large balcony and wonderful views to sit and relax on. Probably La Ermita is best suited for those without children as apart from the pool there isn't much more to keep them occupied. A short stroll up a steep hill (but you can use the lift in the adjacent car park) brings you into Mijas centre with it's multitude of good restaurants without a Macdonalds, KFC or Burger King to be found. A truly great break in an excellent apartment in an idyllic location. We're booking for next year!
