I can say this right away - this is not a restaurant for a quiet, romantic fine dining experience. But perched above the beach at Mijas, it overlooks the sea and is recommended by locals for its paella.
Driving into Mijas at lunchtime on a hot summer's day, some salad, a glass of rose wine and some hit-the-spot-paella beckoned. The hotel where we were staying recommended this eatery for a decent plate of paella, so we headed here.
The food was good without being outstanding or particularly memorable. What was memorable was the whipping breeze through the open doors and bright sunshine. The salad was decent, the rose a tad under-chilled for my liking. My son ate the Spanish omelette, which he liked, and the mixed seafood paella for 2 was pretty good and plentiful. Service was okay, not bad. Lots of families with young kids drop by from the beach, so it's more a afternoon hangout for those who would like to escape the sun and have a meal. We paid about 65 euro for drinks and mains for 3, minus any dessert. So it's not too pricey either.
Might be better at night, really can't say.
