This is a big botanical garden that even this time of the year i had the chance to enjoy, the autumn colors were beautiful, it has a small but gorgeous japanese garden, beautiful trails and a a big camelias and rose garden, as i said, totally worth my dollars.

We love visiting the Norfolk Botanical Gardens year round. It is located next to the airport. The gardens are extensive. You can spend hours walking between all the different garden areas. Most of the gardens are outdoors. There a few indoor green houses but a majority is outdoors. Our favorite time to visit the gardens is around the holidays. They put up an amazing light display that can be driven through only during this time of the year. They also have special evenings during the warmer months for star gazing, kids events, etc. The gardens are also nice during the summer for kids because they have a small water play area in the center of the gardens. Padded ground, and many water features the kids can play in as well as an educational area, changing and rest rooms.

There are two lakes at the entrance of the garden. No fishing allowed. Why?
The garden is... a garden where you would normally expect to bring pets. No dogs or cats allowed. Why?
Anyway, given the noise of planes taking off in the background, we were glad to leave.

If you want to see holiday lights, this is the place. The displays were awesome. I'd reccommend it for many age but older people should be aware it's a lot of walking.

Enjoyed strolling with family through the wonderful Christmas lights at Norfolk Botanical Garden. They have many beautiful lighted scenes throughout the park. Young and old alike will enjoy the light show!
