“This is a huge and beautiful garden.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2014

During the third week in of May, the large rose garden was completey in bloom, absolutely stunning!Even though it had been raining in the morning, the gardens were still wonderful. Its so much larger than we had anticipated. The tram tour is a great idea. We saw the whole garden first, and then chose about five areas to visit in depth, which took about two hours. You could easily spend the whole day here, if you enjoy gardening.

“A wondrful place to escape too”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014

No matter what time of year it is, this is a must see location. They have a saying "Something is always in Bloom". This is an excellent way to sum up the experience. The location can be seen by walking, riding a tram or riding in a boat. Either way you do it will be a pleasure. The staff is very anxious to help you plan out your trip so that you will be able to get the most out of your experience. If you have a favorite plant or rose you will be sure to find out information about it. The park is sure to please everyone in your party; no matter what their age and likes is.

“A pleasant surprise!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014

I traveled with a group to these botanical gardens....we were a little too late for the azaleas and a little too early for the rhododendrons but enjoyed what we saw. We toured the gardens on a tram but I would recommend seeing them by walking. It would be nice to spend a few hours there instead of one! The facilities were sparkling clean and the people in charge were knowledgeable and friendly. Leave young children at home.

“So many things for families”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2014 via mobile

This is a beautiful garden full of amazing plants. The walkways are flat (though there are some areas with steps and hills, it is a very accessible park) and there is a tram to ride for an overview tour of the garden.
On top of all of that, there is an amazing children's garden organized by ecosystem (Africa, Australia) with a large splash area, a planting station, play houses, bench swings, and fountains. Plus, there is a large beach-type sand hill in another section and a play fort in another area, all with shade and seats.
This is a great place for kids to explore and run and is perfect for families visiting with grandparents who want to take time to admire the flowers while the kids explore. I just wish I had gone sooner!

“Beautiful and peaceful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2014

I really enjoy visiting the Norfolk Botanical Garden - at any time of year - I guess spring is my favorite - with all of the azaleas and other spring flowers in bloom - and my second would be winter, when the holiday lights are glowing. Great gift shop too!!
