this is a beautiful place to see ! we went there for a wedding that was supposed to take place outside, but it was raining and had to be held inside. It didn't matter because you could walk out on the covered deck and the grounds are just beautiful. We went back the next day and rode the tram. It was a great day.

The Norfolk Botanical Garden is a gem right next to the runways at Norfolk International Airport. Membership supported but open to the public. Timing is the key to full enjoyment of what there is to be seen. If you love Azaleas, visit in April when they are in full bloom. Later on visit the extensive Rose Gardens. At Christmas there is a drive through display of Christmas Lights that bring joy to children of all ages. As a member we can visit any time without additional payment for a year. My 96 year old mother in law enjoyed the tram trip (extra cost) as much as my wife and I did. Next time it will be the boat trip we enjoy.
Probably boring for teens and very small children.

I've been here a number of times. There is a tram and boat ride and you should do both. The flora is gorgeous. Best large scale botanical garden I know off. The odd thing is that the small botanical garden at the Zoo in Norfolk is sometimes spectacular and arguably could be considered more beautiful than any one garden at the Norfol botanical gardes.
