“Good Diner Breakfast”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

This is my husband's favorite place to go for breakfast. The food is always good and big portions. May take a bit to get seated and a waiter, but once you do the service is fast.

“Best breakfast burrito I've ever had”
Reviewed May 25, 2012

Every city has their local diner and Do-Nut-Dinette is Norfolk’s. It’s everything you’d expect a diner to look like: a not totally kept up trailer, 2 cops sitting at the counter munching on the diner’s homemade donuts and coffee, and a random group of people sitting at the picnic tables outside (hipsters, an African American family, a couple that looked like they got lost looking for a Gossip Girl party, and three hungover dudes – which was us). Service is slow if you get a seat outside, so keep that in mind. Not much to say about menu except this – get the breakfast burrito. It was hands down the BEST breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. I don’t know what it was, but the tortilla was perfectly grilled and the fillings were the exact portion of cheesy egg, peppers, tomatoes, and crispy bacon (other meat options available) to my liking.

Fabulous hash browns, nice people working there. The hours are little weird though.

“Move over Krispy Kreme, Dunkins watch out, these glazed donuts are the BOMB!”
Reviewed February 2, 2012

Stopped in for a bite on a weekday morning round 1000. Sat at the bar in this pleasantly retro-feeling yet not overly done or kitschy diner. Small place, can see how it would fill up with annoying hipsters on the weekends, tho today it was wide open for seating. Had the 89 cent glazed donuts, whoa, I can see how they sell out so fast. These things beat all the other chains hands down. Their coffee is real coffee, brewed diner strength and great with the glazed. Biscuit and gravy also hit the spot too. Would go again!!! Want to try thee burger next. Only downside is with the small size and intimate setting comes your clothes smelling like the griddle for the rest of the morning.

“Homespun & Friendly But Eggs Just Okay”
Reviewed January 15, 2012

I have heard about this place for years, but usually I am not in town during its open hours. Business delayed me so I visited on a cold damp day. There were many locals and I was able to park on the street. It appeared clean and the retro look was fun and probably the original design for a diner. I had an omelet which I thought pricy at about $10. While glad to support a non-chain, it was not as good as I expected. I hope others have and had a remarkable more satisfying experience.
