“The Park is very nice”
Review of Harbor Park

I can't add anything brilliant, but here are my observations after 3-4 visits over the years.
1. If you are staying near the light rail, take that. It is inexpensive, fast, and it stops immediately in front of the ballpark.
2. The Park is very attractive with good seats all over. If you take a seat a touch higher than field level, you will have a good view of shipping on the Elizabeth River and of the trains going by.
3. The food is fairly varied, but you will pay a ballpark price. A tallboy Corona can was $10.00, and the IPA from a local brewery was even higher.
4. The baseball quality (AAA) is very good. I have seen several of the Tides' players with the major league club in Baltimore.
5. Like most minor league sites, this park features many activities for kids between innings, such as sack races, dizzy bat, etc.
6. You should expect to be warm. At about 9pm, the temperature was in the high 80's with near 100% humidity.

I drove up from the Outer Banks, to see the Syracuse Chiefs, I grew up watching them. It was an easy paced AAA Minor League Baseball Game. Many food options and they were not expensive. Norfolk won with a walk off home run in the 7th inning. Overall, good pitching on both sides.

Those visiting the ballpark can expect a good view of the field from wherever they are seated/standing. For a AAA park, I was surprised that the stadium wasn’t that big. I was disappointed an usher wasn’t available to towel off our dirty seats, so we had to wipe them off with napkins.
It was nice to have a cool drink during the game. I was pleased with the selection of craft beer produced by Virginia breweries as well as other drink options like frozen wine.
Disappointed with variety of food options. For a coastal town, I was surprised that the only seafood options were a hot dog topped with crabmeat . . . and mac n’ cheese (?!) and shrimp n’ grits at the buffet in the restaurant that’s on the premises. I would think some other fish dishes, even if they were just fried shrimp and clams or crab cakes would be very popular.
Easy access to get in and out of the stadium using the highway. Also, parking was ample but came with a price.
So overall, I came away with a positive experience and would consider seeing another game if ever in town again.

Huge ballpark with a great experience. Good food and drink. A little expensive for minor leagues but still very reasonable. Overall fantastic experience well worth it.

On a whim we went to see a baseball game while on vacation in Virginia Beach. We all had a really great time. The game was fun, the park was clean and parking was inexpensive and close. So glad we went!
