“Worth A Visit”
Reviewed August 8, 2010

The memorial did a good job of describing the military career of Douglas MacArthur by highlighting both his setbacks and many great achievements throughout WWI, WWII, and the Korean War. At an average pace, it takes less than an hour to get through the exhibits. One comes away being even more impressed with MacArthur's career after viewing this humble memorial.

“Interesting Place”
Reviewed November 19, 2007

This is a very interesting place in downtown Norfolk.

Inside the main building are the graves a MacArthur and his wife. Behind the graves in the main rotunda is a large and detailed musuem. The muesum is filled with artifacts and information on the life and achiements of MacArthur.

In another building is a theater that plays a movie on MacArthur. And in another building is a gift shop with plenty of nice souveniers. Even if you are not going to buy anything, make sure to go in because MacArthur's car is in there.

The memorial is free, which is nice. Parking can be found right across the street at a garage at the MacArthur Center Mall. It takes at least an hour to see it all.
