“Wine fine, food limited.”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

The outdoor patio is very pleasant in nice weather. The wine flight was a very small sample of 6 different wines. Their own wines were quite nice we thought, although two were sweet wines. The food choices are limited. Cheese tray, charcuterie a few salads, and about 6 or 7 sandwiches. One vegetarian sandwich. The only vegan food item was hummus appetizer. Service needs adjustment. We ordered 'small plate' appetizers of a cheese plate and flatbread, and sandwiches as our 'main course'. Waited quite a while for our food, and then the sandwiches came before what we thought were the apps. We had expected the cheese plate and flatbread to come as appetizers, not after the sandwiches. The food was good, just a limited menu.

“Tons of Potential”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Stopped in late afternoon and found a seat at the bar. We enjoyed the Mermaid flight tasting, the owners have created some quality wines. We then ordered a glass of their own Chard and the white wine cheese plate which was plentiful, it included three cheeses, water crackers, candied walnuts, grapes, apples, honey and a chutney. Here is the caveats the server at the bar was a very nice young man, but his knowledge of the wwine was non existent. I wanted to hear where the grapes were sourced, what kind of barrel was it aged in if any barrel at all, what was the %s in the white and red blend, heck the server couldn't even identify what flavor the chutney was, "I think its peach but it could be mango" The owners need to find some servers with wine knowledge or tutor the ones they have, unfortunately the sustainablility of a tasting room with out a staff knowledgable in the wine they serve is not practical. We wish them the best and hope they iron out the kinks.
