Norfolk has a long history of Maritime as well as a very large Naval base and facilities throughout Norfolk area. Its worth the time to tour the National Maritime Center.

A great visit the battleship tour was great. Plan to spend at least three hours to fully enjoy the entire museum. The kids were a bit rushed thru the museum because we did not planned enough time.

my wife and I went to the museum after visiting the USS WISCONSIN , had a good time there don't expect a big museum like the ones in Washington ,DC , but is a different place to expend some quality time with the family and you will learn something about the naval history of the USA and the oceans surrounding the world .

we like to go to nauticus a few times a year. It has alot of historical items from the sea and a replica of a ships bridge that my kids love to play in. It also offers touch tanks with live aquatic species and different movies showing underwater or shipbuilding/navy themes. It takes awhile to get through so you can spend the day there. A little cafe downstairs makes it a nice venue right on the water. Get a season pass if you're going more than once and use it all year.

Very hot humid day. The ship was magnificient. Did the self guided tour and took tons of pictures. Really enjoyed sitting in the mess hall. This is one not to miss if you visit Norfolk.
