“Awesome museum!”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

This place is awesome! The exhibits are great and the Battleship Wisconsin is fantastic! We took the topside tour and got to explore the inside of the ship----I highly recommend taking this tour! You won't regret it! My only regret about our visit is that we did not allot enough time....I would definitely go back and continue exploring!

“An interesting experience”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

This is a very easy walk from the cruise ship terminal. We walked to the Nauticus and sorry to say, we were too late to get the full guided tour of the Battleship Wisconsin. If you go, make sure you are early enough to get the combined ticket. The center has lots of displays, and it was fun to see what it would be like to be on the bridge of one of these ships. There are also short films from naval encounters. We wished we had more time, as the displays and history were extremely interesting. We then walked over to the attached Battleship Wisconsin, walked the decks, no idea those guns are so large. Walked through the open areas of the ship, and on the decks. We had an interesting time. We also found the gift shop had some neat gifts for children, we bought a compass with all kinds of navigational information great for an 8 yr. old grandson.

“Great for families”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

We really enjoyed our visit to the Nauticus. We have a 4 year old that loved it even more than we did. Lots of kids activities to do while there. Lots of history about the navy and norfolk area in general.

We decided to the the boat tour that leaves out of the Nauticus. The boat tour last about 2 hours and gives you a close up tour of our Navy. We got to see destroyers, subs, aircraft carriers, and other ships up close and personal. Only negative for us was that it was cold and windy on the day we went so it made it a bit uncomfortable.

Overall a great place to visit if your in the area.

“Good for kids”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

This museum has three different parts. There's the USS Wisconsin battleship, the Maritime Science Museum and the Naval HIstory Museum. The maritime science portion is very child friendly with lots of hands on activities. We had our 8 yr old granddaughter with us and she had a great time. The battleship is also very impressive with informative guides stationed throughout the ship. Some of them are Navy veterans who served on the Wisconsin. We enjoyed the time we spent here.

“Another Naval Museum”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

We opted to tour only the second floor which was free as we did not have much time for more. The USS Wisconsin was there and looked quite imposing from outdoors. The items on the second floor were interesting, especially information about the Monitor and the Merrimac and seeing the models with the two items in perspective.
