8 of us went here for lunch last week and all I can say is wow!!!
Whilst the plate of the day offered us 4 different main courses, the friendly family staff just made the visit complete. We all had a starter, main course, dessert and coffees. A litre and a half of white and red house wine plus 2 bottles of water for the table completed our experience and all for a staggering €64!!!! Yes just €8 per head I still can't believe how good value this was. A must if you are in the area.

This restaurant is on the main N125 road, less than a mile west of Aqualand water park. It is furnished in a simple, traditional Portuguese style and family run. The food is not haute quisine but, in keeping with its image, is traditional and wholesome. The menu revolves around simple meat and fish dishes. The fish soup and mussels were particularly goos as starters; we both enjoyed the black pork fillets whilst the tuna steak was huge! Volume of food is certainly not the most important aspect of a meal, but you can be sure of leaving here with your appetite fully sated! The most astounding aspect is the value for money. They offer a tourist menu with choice of starter, main (fish or meat), dessert, coffee and a drink for an amazing 10 Euros - this was in April and I have no idea if it was just seasonal. A selection of wines was available, but I found the house red quite acceptable and, at E3 for half a litre, amazingly good value. We liked the place so much that we ate here twice in a 4-night holiday. Not Michelin Star food, but very authentic, tasty, friendly and above all very good value.
