“Perfect if you want a quiet break”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

My sister and I stayed here last week, the weather was very warm so we just enjoyed doing nothing very much, sitting around the pool and relaxing with a book. We took the free hotel shuttle bus to Quateria a couple of times, there is a long beach there with many cafes, bars and shops to while away the day. We also visited Villa Mora which was lovely. On the whole the hotel was great, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, the room we had was large and well equipped, the whole place was looked after and very clean. We were all inclusive and the food was very nice, there was something for everyone and plenty of it. There were mostly couples and single travellers staying during this time and we met some really nice people of all nationalities, I would recommend this hotel and may we go back there next year.

Room Tip: Dont go here if you want 24/7 entertainment, but if you are happy to make your own or just relax and...

The room that I was allocated was in an annexe block located about a hundred yards from the reception/bar/restaurant area and was very clean and comfortable if a little basically furnished. The big attraction for me was that it was a quiet area with its own pool and garden area.

The restaurant offered good quality food for the most part with a good selection of breads. The evening meals were usually of good quality and variety and food was plentiful. The staff were friendly and helpful by and large in common with all the people of the region. I did have an issue regarding getting a table in the restaurant one busy evening but It was resolved perfectly satisfactorily.

There is a regular and free mini bus service to both Quarteira and Vilamoura. and only takes ten to fifteen minutes. It is, however, an easy twenty minute walk to Quarteira.

The Algarve is a deservedly popular destination with lovely people, lots of warm sunshine and great scenery. This hotel offers good value for money for those looking for a quieter location

Room Tip: The annexe block offers a quieter location having its own pool and garden area with sun loungers.

After reading the reviews wasn't sure what to expect as we went AI. The food isn't too bad once you work out whats good and not so good. Breakfast was good, the salad fresh, nice choice of breads and the fruit fresh, not tinned! The evening meal wasn't always the best but you didn't go hungry. Staff were actually very nice if you took the time to be social they were just very busy. A special mention to Manuel behind the bar he was lovely and all the kids liked him too.all in all we had a fab holiday, met some lovely people, the room was clean and beds made every day and the weather brilliant.

My wife and I have just returned and can say that both food and accommodation exceeded our expectations. Superior room large and fully equipped with pleasant view of gardens. Ideal for some good walks to local beaches, past a lagoon or other countryside. Position in countryside away from the increased sprawl of Quarteira an advantage, which is a 25 min walk away. Rooms were cleaned regularly and water in shower was always hot! There was entertainment most nights of a reasonable standard. The only ones who could complain would be those who may well have drunk to much!! G&C

Room Tip: Choose a superior room, well worth it!

Stayed here 5 days half board with husband and two daughters. The hotel is very clean and set in lovely country side but not too far from the beach. Almond, orange and lemon trees surrounded the hotel. The room was very big with a small sectioned off room with two beds.the main area had a frigde ,tv ,iron, kettle and settee. The staff worked very hard and were very pleasant.I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Country hotel with the large superior room on the first floor for our family. Curtained off single beds for the children and twin beds pushed together for us. Flat screen TV with two English speaking news channels, good size fridge, kettle and cups, iron, board and hair dryer (take your own tea/coffee) we bought milk in the afternoon up the road at LIDL, ten minute walk away. Little seating lounge area with view past the balcony to a lovely tree and lots of green with houses on the hill in the distance. Watching and listening to the birds was lovely - relaxing in the room. The room was very clean, cleaned daily with fresh sheets and towels were changed daily. Had a little problem with rain for nearly four days end of October (so unlucky) but it made it feel quite damp and cold in such a large room and towels struggled to dry cleaners were happy to change towels. Bathroom clean with bidet no problems. Only a few little down sides, beds a little uncomfortable and pillows lumpy but cleaners were happy to give additional pillows when we asked whilst the noise travels dreadfully along the corridors and other guests not supervising their children playing in the corridors was a dreadful noise. But that said these were the same parents that thought it was fine to let their children swim in the freezing cold pool without their adult supervision despite signs making it quite clear that it was their job to be responsible not other guests job to put up with their lack of parenting skills. The hotel could not be held responsible for training parents.

Courtesy bus was excellent and the drivers fabulous, on one occasion for a return journey there were too many of us and it only took five minutes for the second mini bus to arrive, so quick and efficient.

We hired a car from the hotel reception staff for three days. Costs were comparable to the costs quoted in town with the added bonus of pick up and drop off at the hotel. We loved touring the local area and up into the mountain villages and other beaches. Again reception staff and car hire company were excellent. We chose to have lunch out a couple of days and an evening in Vilmoura for entertainment and a meal - enjoyable. Good roads easy to follow for a first time drive and visit to Portugal, easier than Greek roads.

Wifi service in the main bar and reception was very good. Forget swimming in October in the sea or pool FREEZING (children braved it) and very very large waves lapping the beaches. Mosquitoes not a problem but flies a little irritating not just by the pool also in other towns. We took board games and cards but the bar also provided these to use as well for other guests who didn't have anything. Lots of rain so we played lots when not touring in our hire car, only 2 days sunbathing out of the 7 days. Aquaparc up the road very closed so although it is walk-able from the hotel, NOT in October as it says it is open on the aquaparc website it is closed.

Hotel evening entertainment 'Mario Spencer' singer entertainer excellent, Bingo night the longest ever, so funny not for the serious bingo goers so we loved it, Karaoke night fun, quiz night and another Portuguese singer guitarist enjoyable. A little computer game thing for kids to pay and play, one euro for a game of pool', a little play area for toddlers that didn't look appealing when wet.

Bar staff, receptionists, drivers, chef, waiters and the waitress's were the best including the manager. Very friendly, happy, professional and welcoming.

As first timers 'all inclusive' we were not really sure what to expect for the price we paid. HAPPY no complaints. Buffet, loved making my side salad adding pasta and sauces, enjoyed the soups, lovely rolls, breakfast plentiful with rolls, breads, meats, cheeses, fried eggs, scrambled, great toaster, fruit, cereal etc. and coffee machine (yes breakfast juice was a little lacking but it did the job). Chips or rice available each evening, sometimes the dishes had potatoes in the dishes normally two types of fish each evening and two meats. Our teenage son is a fussy eater that likes fish and he took on the challenge of trying all the different fish, loved it. Again lunch was either buffet style or order off the snack bar menu pizza etc. All inclusive drinks finished at 10pm which wasn't a problem for us and we were happy to pay for drink after this time as it had been plentiful throughout the day including lovely cups of tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

The hotel was remote exactly what we were looking for but with a good half hour walk to the beach whilst being in the country and when the sun was out to sunbath on our last two days it was extremely relaxing and enjoying. We would have had a game of tennis as well if rain hadn't been so heavy for so long.

The hotel building itself is dated (but everything has to age) but kept extremely clean, gardens well maintained so it was comfortable and we were happy to stay and would stay again. Thank you to all the hard working staff for helping us to have a very pleasant holiday.
