“Nice Break !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2014

just a short review as its a bit late , hotel when we were there was a little tarnished around the edges , the hotel staff , food and location were very good , the walk (if you are up to it !) to the marina is worth a look , we went march time so the weather was a little windy but still caught the sun , we went on a dolphin safari but alas did not see any , nice couple of hours out though (£25 euros each) we liked it and are thinking of returning more summer time`ish , the bus station is only down the road about (500 yards) and the buses are regular Faro is a good trip . not far from the beach (behind hotel short walk) .

Room Tip: wifi in reception

Travelled in August 2014. This hotel is worn down and ill equipped (looks as if it was built in the 1970's and not touched since) - no access to a safe until Wednesday after arriving on Saturday, unable to hire a hairdryer until Tuesday. Booked a sea view but actually had no view at all in the room as the glass in the windows leading to the balcony was completely obscured by condensation between the double glazing. Once outside the view was lovely though.

The all inclusive we had booked was laughable - only available from 11.00 am until 10.00 pm and then providing a cheap alternative to my drink (Tia Maria) and having to pay more for it than in a local bar. No access to pool and outdoor seating area until 10.00 am - but often this was not open till 10.30-11.00 as the staff were clearing for breakfast. The barman was the most obnoxious I have ever come across and one receptionist in particular was curt and unhelpful at all times.

The one bright thing was that the rooms were very clean - for the first time ever the room maid was the only member of staff I tipped as she seemed to be the only one that really cared about her work.

The breakfast was generally good but marred by the fact that the fruit juice machine no longer chilled the contents and so it was necessary to add ice to breakfast juice and the hot drinks machine could not supply hot milk for 3 days. The general atmosphere and quality of the food for the remainder of the meals was not conducive to staying in at the hotel and we at out in local area most of the stay.

Our room was on a high floor and the A/c was very quiet as mentioned in another review.

A quiet resort suitable for chilling out - no entertainment available in local bars (except world cup on TV everywhere) but beautiful beach very close by. Good places to eat nearby - would definitely not recommend all inclusive option.

I have been on all inclusive hols before - so I know what to expect ! - this hotel is mid range and well worth the money.
Booked through easy jet hols and had a 20 min transfer from Faro via resort hoppa. All went smoothly. Arrived in the hotel after the bar had shut but the receptionist gave us some water. The hotel has guests from multiple countries- I have heard German,Dutch and English. Meals have good choices and empty trays are refilled promptly. Very friendly staff. Our room was a twin room with 2 balconies- plenty of room and a lovely bathroom.
The hotel really is 100 m from the beach and within easy access of the shops.
The pool is small but a lovely sun trap- and very private even though it is surrounded by roads- not really a hotel for kids as there is no entertainment facilities.
Really enjoying my holiday here

from the time we arrived there was a warm welcome from reception with an extremely easy check-in, as we were all-inclusive we were able to go straight into lunch. After a lovely lunch went up to our room, we had requested a double bed, seaview and middle floor and to our delight we were given all three. the only downside that we found was the earlyish closing of the bar (2200hrs) and it would have been nice to have an ice cream fridge to use. We would use this hotel again and would recommend to friends. There wasn't a huge choice of food but we found that ok and never went without. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return.

I had a high floor with a really good view of the sea. The lifts were a bit awkward at first because they're small (there's two) but one of them didn't work most of the time. But for what I paid for a random quick get away for some sun I can't complain.
A buffet breakfast was included and it was ok. I wouldn't go all inclusive; there's some nice places to eat nearby.
The rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily.
Its a quiet town and Vilamoura is more lively and close by. But Quartera is nicer and less touristy in my opinion.
The hotel is in a good spot in the town it's very close to the beach.

Stayed from 17th June - 24th June. The staff are very friendly.Rooms are cleaned daily. No hot drink facilities in the room, and the inclusive drinks finish at 10pm, which includes tea and coffee unless you pay $1.80 for a cup of coffee.
There are no activities or entertainment day or night, you will need to go off site for this.
There is a good cross section of different nationalities and I would say the average age was 50+ this may depend on the time of year we were there.
The food is edible but no choices , you have what is cooked that day -scrambled egg one morning fried the next which was rotated, no bacon all week- stewed beef one day, stewed lamb the next fish with basic salad & chips - same puddings for 7 days cheesecake or moose. I advised staff that my daughter was vegetarian and this was stated when booking "we cant make exceptions - if we do it for one we have to do it for all"
Would I go back -Yes to Portugal -No to this hotel
Would I recommend to family and friends - No

Room Tip: Book on the 8th floor or higher to get a sea view. We were in room 801

Stayed in late June 2014. Perfectly acceptable to be honest and within 100m of the beach. Remember, you get what you payfor. The location is great, room clean, staff don't speak much English, but accept that. The pool is small but plenty of room when we went. We weren't all inclusive but looking at the food, good job we weren't as it didn't look very appetising.
Breakfast was ok, not brilliant, but enough choice to set you for the day.
A few local restaurants that were very good, including Augusto, which is typically local and off the beaten track, but only about 500m from the hotel (turn left from the hotel, second roundabout, turn right, then about 150m up the hill).
you can walk to Vilamoura in about 25 minutes or take a 5 Euro cab. This is well worth it, with bars, shops and restaurants surrounding the harbour. Great atmosphere.
The sea front is very picturesque and has a great promenade.
Enjoy your time here, you won't go wrong.
Make sure you have some Euros on arrival, as change places are few and far between.
the reception staff are a tad rude, with no customer service. No directions around the hotel, like where the pool is or what your package includes. It's a case of, find out yourself unfortunately.
We were on the 8th floor, so heard no noise at all. Air con was a plus and the bed, acceptable.
