I have to come here to correct the review of Mr. Jaafonseca.
When he says:
“What really upsets me is that I'm Portuguese and I know for a fact that not taking cards is actually a technique that restaurants use to evade paying taxes, so shame on them. “
He actually means that is a usual technique to “AVOID Bank Commissions”, something that I can not confirm or deny if it is happening or just was any sort of temporary technical TPA problem in communication.
In fact “A Cabana” / “La Cabane” is not one but two excellent restaurants, each one of his kind owned by the same family now for more than 30 years, each one near the corner of the street but in an angle that when you see one, can’t see the other.
“A Cabana” managed by Mr Carlos offers a large variety of fresh fish and meat and when I go there I’m looking for grilled food.
“La Cabane” is managed by his wife. Mrs Beatrice is a French lady that offers a wonderful international cuisine with excellent presentation and appreciated by the most demanding tastes offering still a large variety of French wines as nobody else around.
Warm welcome, very adequate service, excellent menu, large portion and good price with one of the owners checking around constantly if everything is all right.
Definitively, a place to go and enjoy a superb meal.
