First impressons count and the friendly, efficient check in and the spotless room were a great start. The owners and the staff at the D'Annunzio are first class; they are helpful, friendly and genuine and really made us feel welcome.

The pool area is lovely and relaxing although it isn't great for children. Snacks are served in this area and the staff always make sure that you are ok for drinks - the draft beer is lovely as is the Hugo 'cocktail'. The sunbeds are in good supply but not particularly comfortable - we bought some foam mats from a nearby shop which helped.

Now for the food and my first negative, namely the breakfast we always found something to eat and on one occasion paid a couple of Euros for bacon and eggs which were nice. On the whole though there is room for improvement for example being in Italy you would expect some nice bread but ony cheap white sliced is available.

On half board you can have have lunch instead of dinner and although we found nothing wrong with dinner we preferred this as the food seemed a little nicer and the 7pm sitting is a little early for us. There is a daily special for dinner and plenty of alternatives if you want something else. The portions are very generous and both the pizzas and the ice creams are delicious.

Now for the second negative, the hotel has its own part on the sandy beach which is easily spotted because its the only one with deckchairs whereas the others have a mixture of deckchairs and sunbeds. We are beach people and found this to be poor.

The resort itself is not typically Italian but it has a good vibe and unlike for example Turkey and Tunisia you feel safe when you go out, you are not hassled to death and there are good shops as well as the ones selling tat. There are plenty of nice bars, ice cream places and places to eat.
We went to Venice under our own steam which was great and is a must do.

All in all we had a really nice time and would probably go back but 7-nights is just about right.

Our biggest criticism is reserved for Thomson we saved over £160 by flying from Gatwick rather than Manchester (which is much closer to us) how on earth can they justify such a huge price difference? The journey to Gatwick is a pain!

The rep in resort (Rory) is really helpful and honest, and top marks for the aircraft which were modern and comfortable.

I have recently returned from a weeks holiday with my friend at this hotel and would like to give a balanced review.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, bedding was changed daily, staff were very friendly. The pool was clean and there was never any lack of sunbeds, (however, they did not have any cushioning and were rather uncomfortable). There is no child area in the pool and the shallow end is quite deep for children.
We went half board and there was an option to have breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner. In the dining room you have your allocated table for the remainder of your stay.
Breakfast is very poor and in my opinion, not worth getting out of bed for. Coffee very weak and tea practically without any taste. There is a prehistoric toaster which does 4 slices of bread ( for the whole dining room). There is no butter, but a big slab of cheap margarine which you help yourself to.
Dinner was usually nice but a bit samey. The trouble we found was that dinner was served at 19.00, tying us to that time. We decided to have lunch instead of dinner, which was much better for us as it was available from 12.00 until 13.30, leaving our evenings free to eat where we liked.
This was my first trip to Italy and I must say that Lido di Jessolo did not 'feel' the remotest bit Italian. A purpose built resort in the 70's, extremely cosmopolitan, I felt I could have been anywhere in Europe.
The hotel has a high rate of returning guests, which rather put me in mind of 'Benidorm' but without the riff raff. The resort is very flat and ideal for wheelchairs etc.
We did our own trip to Venice for 23.50 euros which included return bus and ferry fare and unlimited water taxi rides in Venice. These tickets are bought just across the road at the Tabbachi and much cheaper than the Thomas Cook coach trip for 65 euros.
I would urge anyone to visit Venice, it is breath-takingly beautiful.
On the whole I would recommend this hotel to 'older people', and although nice, I will not be returning to this resort as it is too commercialised, cosmopolitan, plastic, and does not feel Italian enough.

Room Tip: We had a really big room compared with our neighbours. It was number 42. It overlooks the pool.

Once you realise that all the staff are truly genuine and only want their guests to be happy you will have the best holiday.

You cannot quite put your finger on it, nothing is brilliant, the food, the rooms etc but overall it is the best place my family has ever stayed and we are going back again this year.

The water park is only 10 mins walk away and that is well worth the cost and you should allow a day for this as well as some time in Venice, the beach is also only 5 mins away.

The only real negative is that you have to pay separately for air con which really is needed in the summer and if you want to sleep earlier than midnight you will need it as the Main Street is very lively until then.

Room Tip: The best rooms are on the first floor at the front but the road noise is higher

I was a bit worried reading some of the reviews and seeing some of the photo's, however I have to say we had a fabulous time at The D'Annuzio.

We stayed in room 46, the room was spotless, lovely bathroom and balcony a bit small but you don't spend your day in the room.

When we were told we had to sit in the same place for dinner each night I was a little apprehensive, but this added to the charm of the place and the waitresses were excellent.

The pool area was very good, food was o.k, you could swap dinner for lunch which was good.

I work in the hotel industry and you can get very picky about where you stay, but I have to say that the team at this hotel are excellent, friendliness & service was second to none which goes a long way to make people want to return, which we will most definatley do. The pictures do not do it justice.

Returned a week ago from our first visit to this delightful hotel and indeed Jesolo! From start to finish the friendly owners and staff made our visit memorable and could not do enough for the guests. Excellent accomodation, spotless, cleaned daily to a high standard. Good location, literally minutes from the beach, nice pool area and bar. Very comfortable. Extensive choice of food on the menu and plenty of it. Good base to visit Venice and surrounding areas from. 10/10 Bella !!!

Stayed at this hotel from 31st May for a week and travelled through Thomas Cook. First of all the check in was quick and friendly. Almost instantly we felt at home. Brenda and Monica did the check in with mauritzio giving some information about the meal times and different options available.
The rooms were tiny, however very typical of the resort and spotlessly clean. We had maids in every single day we were there. The pool area is also very nice. Music playing in the background and waitress service for your drinks. The location is fab and just a street back from the glorious beach. Each hotel has its own section of the beach with loungers and parasols free of charge. My only issue was they were deck chairs and not loungers which I found uncomfortable.

Breakfast in a morning could sometimes be a little crazy but we found going around 7.30am was a good time. Not incredible food but good for the price of the hotel and definitely enough to fill you up! The half board option was good. Your evening meal could be changed to lunch time if you felt like going out on a night so didn't miss a meal you had paid for. Again the food wasn't amazing but definitely ok and enough to fill you up! It is a menu style and not a buffet and the waitresses really do work hard at dinner time!

Prices for food and drink were very reasonable. €4 for a beer and €2.50 for wine. We really enjoyed the coffee and croissant in a morning for €2 instead of the breakfast everyday.

The staff are just amazing and cannot do enough for you! It's a real gem this hotel and would definitely recommend. We are a couple in our early 20s and this caters for every age group. In 2 words... Bloody fab!

Good value hotel in a great central location. The staff were all friendly and the food choice is ok, not amazing but given the price to stay good value and acceptable.
The pool area is nice and private, although it's quite close to the road and the beach with it's private tables and sunshades are only a stones throw away.
The rooms are quite small but clean and typical of this resort.
The outside bar is a great place to sit and 'people watch' in the evenings.
Overall well satisfied with this hotel and would consider coming back here if coming to Lido de Jesolo again.
