“Hotel Principe Palace Jesolo Lido Italy”
Reviewed December 23, 2011

Having had an excellent experience on our previous holiday in Tierrena, we decided to venture further north and try out Venice. We chose this hotel as it was out of the city and looked to be in a very nice location. The hotel itself is well maintained and well equipped. The rooms are also quite nice and sufficient, as you're only really there to sleep and wash for the most part, I mean really you're on holiday, you don't want to spend it completely in the room. Upsides of this hotel is the location in Jesolo Lido, you basically right in the centre, loads of shops (albeit most of them are touristy shops), but if you travel far enough down the road to you left coming out of the hotel, you will eventually find some nice shops. We never really found the either end of the road! It went on forever. There is a train that goes at night, we kept meaning to do that but didn't get around to it for some reason. The bar staff are great and very friendly. Although we did find it strange that you couldn't charge any drinks to your room ? Something about they're run as two seperate businesses. Don't know, just found that really odd. In food comparisons from Pisato this place in my own opinion, there is NO comparison.. Pisa wins hands down. Now that may be down to the area and the types of food they served, but I found the restaurant staff to be really not that friendly, they were there to do a job and that was about it, whereas in Pisa the restaurant staff couldn't do enough for you. This hotel, you were given a menu for the coming evening and had to chose your mean the night before. Personally I don't know what I may want to eat a day in advance. If you like squid, and octopus, lots of different fish, etc.. you'll love this place, but I prefer what most think of Italian food as your different types of pasta dishes and such. Breakfast is buffet style and was okay.. what can you really say about breakfast really. Also is you see a guy roaming the hotel in the evening is a blazer jacket, jeans and trainers, it'll be the owner.. I must say he was very hands on with his staff, but I think with him being around all the time, kept the staff moving. He was though very kind to take a couple of photographs of us and our friends so we could have one with everyone. The pool is located up on the roof and if you want a good lounger, get there early else you'll never get near the pool as it's limited space nearby. Summing it all up it's a nice hotel, nothing really wrong with it, but we just prefer further south. Our next journey is to the Amalfi Coast so watchout for that review.

excellent hotel, wonderful breakfast and evening meals, all members of staff are friendly, polite and helpful. rooms are cool, clean and well maintained. location is excellent, handy to the beach, shops, bars and bus route. I would recommend this hotel to both couples and families of all ages. we borrowed pushbikes one day which was an excellent way to see more of the resort.

I've recently come back from a week's stay (23-30th Sept) at the Hotel Principe Palace in Lido de Jesolo. I read a few reviews on Trip Advisor before booking the holiday but the hotel and the area lived up to my expectations and more.

The hotel itself is in a brilliant location in the middle of a popular square called Piazza Mazzini. The beach was only a short walk away (5 mins by foot) with plenty of free sunbeds and parasols for hotel residents. The hotel has a total of 5 floors with the pool area on the rooftop. We often stayed around the pool during the day (when we weren’t exploring) and never struggled to get a sunbed. There is also a pool bar on the roof serving snacks and lunch at fairly reasonable prices.

Our room was quite big with two single beds, a dressing table and large bathroom. Our balcony overlooked the piazza which was great for people-watching at night although I can imagine it can be quite noisy during peak months.

The food at the hotel was excellent with plenty of choice. We were shown to a table at the start of the week which is where you sit for the rest of the holiday. Breakfast was buffet style with cereal, pastries, fruit and yogurt available, as well as the traditional full English. Tea and coffee is served at your table. Evening meal was waiter service. You order from a menu the night before. We also had two buffet nights. Portion sizes were great – often the starter was bigger than the main! The salad buffet was also well stocked with loads of choice.

One of the reasons we chose this hotel (and the area) was so we could travel to Venice. I’ve read online that this was fairly easy to do by yourself but after attending the Rep meeting, we were slightly put off and paid an extra 20 Euros to go with Thomson which was worth it alone for the tour guide Stephano. We also went to Verona and Lake Garda for the day – well worth it if you get the chance!

Overall, I was really impressed with the Hotel Principe Palace and its staff.

First visit to this hotel was for a friends wedding. What a great choice. Hotel was very clean, staff were so friendly and helpful and in a brilliant location. We enjoyed our stay here so much we have revisited three times. One of our visits was for our honeymoon !! It was perfect.Would recommend this Hotel very highly, food excellent, very good choice every night and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. My Mother-in law (aged 73) wanted to visit this Hotel as we rated it so highly, and she too had a wonderful time and the staff were so attentive to her. One thing I would recommend is that you ask for a room on the front of the hotel as you can have hours of enjoyment sitting on the balcony watching the world go by !!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel. sitting on the balcony and watching the fountains is a mus...

When we arrived at the hotel we were met by the rep, Jeff. As we were arrived around lunch time not all the rooms were ready, but we were cheacked in and offered a free drink at the bar! When we got to our room, it was a bit smaller than we expected, but you don't spend that much time in there so it wasn't really a problem. The bathroom was a decent size with a walk in shower. On our first evening we somehow managed to blow the electricic in our room! But this was soon sorted by the staff and was not a problem. Our room was situated at the back of the hotel overlooking the car park. It was fairly quiet apart from the early morning trip to the bottle bank which woke us up most mornings! Breakfast was buffet service which was very good. Evening meal was waiter service with a salad buffet also. You chose your meal the evening before. Food was good but we are fairly picky eaters, but found something we liked most evenings. Staff were very polite and friendly. You sign for your drinks and then pay your bill at the end of the week. Bar staff were also very friendly, and there is a poolside bar on the roof where you can get drinks and food at lunch times. Pool was quite deep but it didn't seem to bother any of the young children! The hotel is a few minutes walk from the beach which is very nice, and the hotel provide free sunbeds and parasols which was very good. Jeff the rep was very good and we booked trips to Venice and Lake Garda/Verona through Thompsons, both were very good, as was the guide Stefano. Jeff also gave some tips about the area including the extremely cheap supermarket which was a few roads back from the hotel. Piazza Mazzini comes alive at night, and the road is pedestrianised. There are loads of shops and restaurants and bikes you can hire. The hotel also provide bikes for free hire. Overall we had a nice stay at the Principe Palace and would recommend it.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter

I and my wife have spent two weeks at this hotel. An absolute gem. From first booking in to l;eaving the staff were friendly and helpfull. The hotel was spotless with fresh bedding and towells daily. A free safe in the rooms. The hotel is situated in the middle of the main square of the town and an ideal location for visiting Venice Verona and Lake Garda.

The swimming pool is on the roof of the hotel with views of the sea, town and surrounding areas,It has a bar doing drinks and snack during the day at reasonable prices.

The beach is about 200 yards away and the hotel prvide free of charge sun loungers and parasolls. A superb beach.

The restaurant is nice with a good atmosphere. The food and service was excellent. A superb hotel in a nice town with delightfull and efficient staff

What a lovely hotel - staff brilliant, especially the barman, cute or what - lovely clean rooms - nice pool area - great location.
Only problem was the food, it could sometimes be lukewarm and my sister got food poisoning once (it didn't kill her).
Would definitely go back though!!!
