“Brilliant year after year”
Reviewed April 8, 2007

I just have to say that this hotel is brilliant...ok its not the Ritz, but all you really need is a place to store your clothes, have a shower and put your head down for the night!. I have stayed in this hotel 7 years in a row in the summer season and have received the best welcome. The staff all remember me and are very polite and hospitable towards me and whoever I happen to be there with (either my friends or my mother). At beakfast there is a multitude of choice, catered towards the continental crowd with cereals and cold meats and cheese. You CAN choose your own rolls and criossants and you CAN use the coffee/tea/chocolate machine yourself and go up as many times as you like! Around the hotel there is a lot to do; on both sides of the street there are loads of restaurants to choose from, as well as ice cream shops and bars also. As far as Venice is concerned, this is Lido di Jesolo NOT Venice and it does not claim to be Venice. People need to do a little bit more research before they travel so they are not disappointed when they arrive. Lido di Jesolo is a BEACH HOLIDAY with easy access of Venice only 40mins to the wonderful city.

Were a maltese Family with 9 & 6 year old kids stayed in the Garden hotel for 7 nights from 2nd to 8th September 2006 which was excellent.

On arrrival we had a warm welcome by the hotel staff and in no time at all we were given the room keys.

The room consisted of a double bed,two bunk beds for the kids and a shower / toilet room, tv, airconditioner.

Regarding the shower it consists of a shower jet fixed to the wall with a drain hole in the floor. One drawback is when using the shower the floor would be flooded with water but you will get use to it no problem.

Breakfast and dinner were excellent with a variety and goodness.
Well done.

Although most of the maltese people speak italian language the staff were also english speaking and very helpfull.

Regarding tidyness, catering, help, and service this rated as a 3 star hotel but with a level of 5 star hotel.

We would recomend this hotel to families with small children.

We had the misfortune of staying in Lido de Jesolo during the 'off' season; there were no laundry or internet facilities for three miles. They had already emptied the swimming pool and most of the shops and restaurants were closed for the year. This hotel was a long way from Venice; total travelling time, including bus and ferry, was never less than an hour and a quarter.

This hotel was very noisy; the walls were thin and the floors were uncarpeted, which meant we heard every sound made in all the surrounding rooms above, below, left and right. The other guests for their part were extremely inconsiderate - we had the pleasure of being awoken by bizarre nocturnal activities. When we called down to reception to ask them to contact the noisy guests they acknowledged our complaint but did nothing. We had to personally telephone the other rooms to ask them, for example, not to stomp around in high heeled shoes at 2am. The air conditioning buzzed even after being turned off.

The 'continental' breakfast cereals tasted like pet food, the bread was solid and the ham was just revolting. They were also incapable of keeping tea or coffee hot (just a candle underneath a hotplate). Worse still, there was no alternative in the area for breakfast.

Even though it became very cold during our stay, they refused to turn the heating on because "...it doesn't get put on until 15 October". On our last day, the heating was turned on early "because it was cold".

Finally, they refused to allow us to pay for incidental expenses by debit card despite having various card logos displayed prominently near the entrance. This required us to take the long walk to the nearest cashpoint and incur the associated fees.

I have never been more relieved to get back to the UK!

As soon as we pulled up to the front of the "Hotel" and saw astroturf out the front, we knew we were in for an interesting time.

My sister hadn't brought her hair-dryer and thought that the be-day dryer was one for your hair, she was mistaken, and washed her hands thoroughly.

There is also an emergency cord in the shower, unusual, as i have no idea what would happen if you were to pull it, maybe you would be lucky enought not to be transported to the breakfast room where you would be greeted with two hard as rock bread rolls awaiting your presence at the table, unfortunately you can not pick your own bread rolls, however how hard they may be. The coffee machine must be worth a fortune aswell, as they do not trust you to push a button to pour your own coffee.

So.............what can we say. DO NOT stay here. and we can confirm that this is indeed not Venice, but atleast a 30 minute boat ride away.

The restaurants here are few and far between, and when they are open they are of a reasonable quality. And believe us you will be hungry after that breakfast, needing something more as they say.

The rooms are crappy, with seashell lights, very small beds, and lovely woollen duvets, which made my sister a bit itchy.

Please whatever you do, investigate other hotels before commiting yourself to such a den.

The hotel Nember&garden is in lido de jossolo that mean you need 1 hour and 15 minute to go in venezia by bus and boat

But on the other side the hotel is just be side the sea with transat

strange on this hotel you cannot take a shower and use the toilet on the same time, the hole to evacuate water from the shower is on the floor just in the front off the toilet seat
If you need using the toilet after the shower the waterproof shoes is recommended

This is not Venice! We visited this hotel as part of a tour, so we did not have a choice. When we saw we were staying in Venice, we thought we would be among the canals and city center. This hotel is so far from Venice, I think it took at least 1/2 hour to get back from the city (after the boat ride). There is nothing around this hotel except for a few restaurants we could walk to (thank goodness). I understand that it is difficult for tour groups to stay in Venice, as it is difficult to find a hotel for a large group and carry all that luggage on the ferry to Venice -- but wow, this was far! If you are not with a group and have a choice, STAY RIGHT IN Venice!! The city itself is so beautiful and awesome; we were so sick that we had to leave it and go back to that cruddy hotel.
