“Cant Believe This Hotel Is Not In Top Ten!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

My wife and I stayed in Venice a couple of years ago and we vowed to return at some point and stay in the "locality"..So for our 40th this year we settled on our first trip to Lido di Jesolo. My wife trawled through tripadvisor and other web sites in a search for a hotel and eventually settled on the Villa Sorriso.
The booking was made direct to the hotel by email which was very quick and efficient.
Amazingly no deposit was requested so we didnt have any hassle with money transfers etc.
We had a very early flight out of Gatwick that got us into Venice Marco Polo airport quite early,..I had pre arranged a car to transfer us from the airport to the resort. The drive was about 40 mins and the driver got us right to the front of the hotel with no problems.
Being early we anticipated not being able to have our room until later in the afternoon but on checking in we were delighted to be told the room was ready for us. We had booked a sea view room which we got but the hotel actually gave us a family suite so we ended up with 2 fridges, 2 tv's and bags of room. We had a balcony with table and chairs and 2 sun loungers with fantastico views over the beach and sea beyond. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable, all the linen and towels of excellent quality..there was a/c if needed..a safe.. and plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space for all my wifes clothes!!
The hotel has direct access to the beach, you just have to cross over the public footpath and step onto the sand. There is no vehicle access along this path,..thus no noise which made for a good nights sleep during the whole duration of our stay. The hotel has its own beach furniture which is free for guests as are the beach towels. The only bugbear is the constant stream of hawkers trying to sell you real fake copies of bags, watches etc, however, a polite no thank you sends them on their way. The beach is "lifeguarded" with a tower just by the hotel beach space.
Back to the hotel,..the breakfast was superb, all the usual fare but always fresh and superbly presented. Eggs to your liking plus bacon was always a request away then cooked fresh.
Without exception all the staff where friendly and very helpful,.we double checked at reception about the route into Venice via public transport i.e how to buy and get the tickets etc.
They said leave it to us, indeed they bought the tickets for us with no surcharge. Great service.
The hotel has a very central position at Lido di Jesolo,..there are plenty of really good restaurants easily within walking distance of the hotel.
Shopping is also excellent, my wife was in "Shoe/Bag Heaven".
To sum up I think you can tell that in our opinion this hotel was a gem of a find and as such I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our trip to Italy was our first time ever to Europe for my Husband and myself. We had a lovely experience of the hotel right from the first moment of arrival.
The hotel staff are extremely friendly and the receptionist spoke some English, which was great considering we couldn't speak Italian.
She showed us a couple of rooms as the manager was concerned that we had the room we wished right from the start. The non ocean view rooms are bigger but the ocean view is to amazing not to take.

The room came with a queen size bed, a flat screen tv, mini fridge and bathroom with shower. A table and bench style chairs were also in our room where our friends room had a loveseat. There was also a safe in our room as well and Wifi is free for use while staying at the hotel which we found a huge plus in Europe.

The website can be a little misleading on pricing as it states 75 EUR for a double and being from Canada means 75 EURO's which is not so. This means 75 EUR per person in the room. So be careful and check this out before heading out.

The beach is amazing and so was the breakfast buffet that is available at the hotel every morning. The hotel is a must stay for anyone who is a beach bum and the town of Lido de Jesolo is so relaxing and laid back. I would definitely stay again.

The journey into Venice though is a bit of a struggle as we were unaware that it would take 45 minutes to get there by public bus and then ferry, but all in all it was great to come back to the hotel well outside of the city after a day of tourists and crowds.

Room Tip: 110V to 220V converter - we had one but it didn't work
