“Lovely hotel, fantastic staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

This hotel was in a great location. It's a few minutes from the beach, and a deck chair, parasol and sun-lounger are included in the price if you book with Thomson. It's got a bus stop directly behind the hotel if you want to explore locally in either direction, and the stop for the extra-urbano Bus no. 5 to Punta Sabbione where you catch the ferry to Venice and the other islands is only a five minute walk further along the road in the direction of Piazza Nember. The open air bar is situated on the main shopping street so you can have a coffee or an elaborate ice-cream creation and watch the world go by. The restaurant next door does fantastic pizzas if you want a more substantial lunch so my husband would often go there while I had a delicious icecream from one of the many gelataria nearby.

The staff are all absolutely brilliant. So friendly, polite and helpful from the Management down to the lovely lady who kept our room (222) spotlessly clean. Everyone is doing their best to give you a good experience. We loved Roberto, our waiter. He could be so funny and he was absolutely brilliant with the children on the tables next to us. They all worked so hard, no days off in the busy periods and some days the waitresses were in the restaurant and other days they helped out in the kitchen. All of them pulling together working as an excellent team.

Some reviews have griped about the food but it was good and in some instances absolutely fantastic. Every evening after soup and salad courses there was a choice of starter pastas and risotto and when I didn't want one of the choices I was able to have a double portion of dessert instead. Really enjoyed their pork sweet and sour and the turkey down with honey and soy sauce. Could have eaten twice the amount just because it was so tasty. Did miss having potatoes and even chips occasionally but as Roberto explained, they try to serve only locally sourced fresh food and it's too dry to grow potatoes locally. There were vegetarian choices in each course, one soup,at least one pasta, one main course and most desserts so no problem if you were vegetarian.

The hotel has bikes if you want to go exploring. It's a good way to get around and see further along the coast as there's no hills to climb and when you want to stop and look round you just prop the bikes up against a tree and use the supplied bike lock to secure it.

It's a lovely hotel, full of surprises and quirky ornaments like miniature houses which are lit up at night. I would really recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing base near a beach but still with dozens of shops and restaurants nearby. The pool was set in such a pretty garden, there's an outdoor/under canvas mini-gym on the patio overlooking the pool and a nice jacuzzi set above the pool. As always, everything kept immaculately clean and the plants were tended and flowers dead-headed to keep them looking beautiful.

Ways to improve it further? Tea and coffee making facilites in the rooms would have been nice, and the built-in wardrobes were barely sufficient although there was ample storage space for folded clothes. The in-room (and free) safes and fridge were a nice touch. There's a small greengrocer's almost directly opposite the hotel to buy soft drinks and beautiful juicy peaches and grapes so the fridge was very handy for keeping them cool.

Portion size could have been a bit more generous though we were never hungry when we had finished our meals, and a few potatoes would have been a welcome sight, as mentioned above.Drinks were pricey but you do get a discount if you book them to your room and pay in cash at the end of your stay.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come again. Good food, great staff and beautiful hotel in excellent location - what more could we want? Well done and thank you to all the staff for making our stay really enjoyable.

Room Tip: Pay for a superior room. You can sit on the balcony overlooking the street and watch the world go b...

Having just returned from a week at the Hotel Milton Romantik, I have mainly positive things to say. Pros:
The decor of the hotel is lovely and so much prettier than others that people often stopped and took pictures of the outside.
The rooms were very clean and the cleaners exceptionally friendly and diligent.
All the staff were friendly, especially David and the waitresses.
The hotel is in an excellent position; very close to the beach and on the main strip which is pedestrianised at night.
Cons:
The evening meals were very poor. I agree with the previous reviewer in that the hotel would do better by offering breakfast only.
Phone in my room wasn't working which meant I couldn't use it to contact other members of my group. This was inconvenient and I did ask twice to have it fixed but this wasn't done.
The pool area is a little small. Unless you are up very early it was impossible to get a bed by the pool and the other beds were in a small area, facing each other and not very private.
Overall though we had a lovely holiday and this hotel has many things going for it.

Having just returned from a two week holiday I can't tell you how disappointing this hotel is for the price £3500 half board.
I'll start with the positives the staff roxanne,David,Robert,Selena couldn't have been more helpful and were always so friendly they are the only good thing the hotel has going for it.
Now the rooms upon arrival we were giving room 306 and couldn't believe it was a twin room we had a double bed and a single bed for our six year old we had to put furniture out on the balcony to get our cases in and one wardrobe with ten hangers for our clothes you couldn't swing a cat and for the bathroom you could shower do the toilet brush your teeth and shave all at the same time Barbie has a bigger bathroom !!!!
We complained and were giving an option of upgrading for 50 euros a night for a triple room we had a look and I think it was about two feet bigger than ours so we declined the managers gracious offer.
Also phoned reception for a iron and iron board to be sent to the room and were told we had to go downstairs to basement to use the only iron the hotel had unbelievable !!
The pool is very pretty and very small it has 8 beds at its side and there is another ten beds at a separate area away from pool it is very claustrophobic you feel like your on top of each other no privacy we went to beach most days which is nice bit crowded but at least you have some space to your self.
The food at the hotel is very poor for a supposed 4 star breakfast is ok if you like the same thing every day does the job
Dinner is awful we ate once and it was once too many ignore other reviews about it being traditional Italian cuisine I've had more traditional Italian cuisine from tescos finest !!
If you want proper Italian food il tseo restaurant next door is fantastic we ate there lunch and dinner every day and you know it's good when it's full of Italians
The actual resort is a bit like an Italian blackpool full of same shops selling cheap tat, pub ,restaurant , arcades walk 100 yards and I can assure you the next 100 will be the exact same!!
Venice is a must gorgeous city not cheap be warned and be prepared to wait to get into attractions but it is worth it we took a private taxi cost 100 euros for 50 min trip round Venice expensive but was money well spent
I did actually enjoy my holiday I know it doesn't sound it but I just feel you should know what you're walking into ciao !!

Only a few points just to see how true this review is.
-£ 3,500 were paid to the agency for the entire package (flights too) not only for the hotel
-customers have booked a twin room not a triple (they were 3 people)
-upgrading to a bigger room cost 20 Euro not 50 as client is saying
-because of the safety standards is not allowed to use an iron in the room so hotel provide an iron facilities in the courtesy room
- as people can see from many pictures at the side of the swimming pool there are many sun beds and the solarium area is in the same place, not "away from the pool".
-Dinner is a personal taste in fact hotel is placed nr. 16 of 234 in Lido di Jesolo
-Jesolo has the most popular pedestrian zone in europe and I found very difficult to complain

We stayed at this hotel from 6th to 13th July and had a wonderful week. The hotel is the prettiest in the resort and the outside areas and gardens are beautiful. We were expecting a very small room as other reviews had said but were pleasantly surprised, it wasn't massive but certainly not tiny and it was nicely decorated and very clean. The pool area has some sunbeds and seating areas and there is a further raised sundeck with gym and spa pool which has only been added to the hotel this year. The breakfast was typically Italian so something for everyone, and the hot drinks served to you. There are different types of coffee on offer. The evening meal was very good with a choice of courses which you make the previous day and again all typically Italian. You can have up to 5 courses; salad, soup, pasta, main course and dessert so cannot imagine how anyone could go hungry. There is a good selection of wines too.
The evening bar is very popular and serves a good range of cocktails. It is an excellent place to end the evening and people watch.
The staff at this hotel are amazing and work so hard You will see Davide in the daytime running the bar, doing the garden and then in the evening taking the restaurant orders and wine waiting and then later back in the bar til late. They all seem to have to multiskill and their hotel is a credit to them.
The resort of Jesolo is a purpose built resort and a very relaxing friendly place to visit, it is transformed in the evening to a place to shop til late and wander up and down, as the main street is pedestrianised after 8pm. The beach is very clean, with warm waters, good facilities and very hot sand!
Obviously Venice is a must and easily reached by bus (No.5-the stop is on the road behind the hotel) and boat. You can buy a combined bus/boat ticket from the tabacchi shop over the road from the hotel for around 20euros each. We also did an excursion with Thompson to Venice and the Islands, this takes in Venice and the smaller islands of Murano and Burano which show you a totally different side of lagoon life and is a excellent day out.
We will definitely be back for another visit

We've just arrived back from a week's holiday at the Milton Romantik and it is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. We travel abroad to different destinations about 4 times a year and we'll definitely go back to this hotel. The decor is unusual and quaint and the hotel is so unique that passers by stop to take photographs. The hotel has been run by the same family for 3 generations and we met them all. The pool area is fairly quiet (I guess lots of people use the free sunbeds on the beach) and the water is warm. Lots of equipment in the outdoor gym. The food was very good and the best we've experienced in hotels for a lot of years. We'd definitely give this hotel a 5 star rating for hospitality of all its staff, good food, good wine, good atmosphere. Try it!!! Susie & Sam from Hull

Room Tip: Top floor as the rooms have wooden floors, so you won't get any noise above you.

Positives - Great hotel. Very clean. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food excellent but small portions. However, there are 5 courses, so by the conclusion of the meal you are full. The following night's meal has to be ordered in advance. If wine is ordered and unfinished, you can ask to keep it for the night after. Any charges for the bar area and restaurant can be charged to the room and paid with cash upon completion of your holiday - this enables a 20% discount, which saves a lot.The hotel is very impressive and at night is all lit up. Very pretty and the flowers and gardens are well maintained.

Negatives - No entertainment. Only televisions in the bar area (although there was a tv in the room). Small bedroom (the rep said all hotels have only small bedrooms in the Lido resort). Bathroom was adequate but very small. Only small shower and there was very little room once the shower door had been opened, as the bidet was directly in front. Not sure what the other rooms are like. Main negative was that there were a lot of steps and no facilities for a disabled person. As a whole, the hotel and pool area are not suitable for disabled travellers ie wheelchairs, scooters etc. Only Ok if you can walk and manage steps.

Resort - Very flat. Perhaps a little tacky. Could be compared to Blackpool but with sun! Lots of souvenir shops, amusement arcades and cafe bars. Food and drink is abundant. Overall a great resort but two weeks may be too long a stay. If anyone likes to lounge by the pool all day or is a beach lover then this could be the place to be. At night it was fully pedestrianised, so no traffic. This was great as you could walk in the road, only having to be aware of bicycles. If you're thinking of going to Venice, then it's well worth the trip - very impressive but be aware of all the bridges. We went on the Vaporetto (water taxi) so took in all the sites without venturing on land.

This Hotel far exceeded our expectations & we are stunned at some of the negative reviews!!! but i suppose we all expect different things. We had a superior room no 320 , which was on the 3rd floor at the front of the Hotel. The room over looked the street but we did not find it noisy as from 20.00 hrs it was closed to traffic until 06.00 hrs. All you would see is people, bikes & a little tourist train. Our room was a good size, not large but how long do you spend in a Hotel room. The Balcony was also a good size for sitting watching the world go by. The food was more than enough although some times a strange combination but very edible , we never went hungry. Our waiter Roberto was just fantastic , so friendly & eager to please. The drinks are expensive in the Hotel but they had an offer that if you paid for any food, ice cream, drinks in Euros at the end of your stay they would discount the total by 20%, we found this a great incentive to stay around the Hotel to drink. The beach was only a 5min walk with a deck chair & sun longer & parasol each couple , you do get a beach towel each for your stay but if you want it changed it costs 4 euros which we found a bit strange. Our room was kept spotless with the towels changed every day if needed. All of the staff were so friendly it felt as though you were part of the family, also because the Hotel is not too big everyone is friendly so it felt like one big family holiday. We would defiantly stay here again and recommend the Hotel to friends & family. We took ourselves of to Venice by the local bus & boat which cost about 18 euro each, although the bus was very busy so we had to stand & its about a 35 min ride. We took a Gondola ride on our own which cost 110 euro for the grand trip (norm 140) this lasted 50 mins & was worth every euro. The bars are expensive around St Mark's Square so we had lunch on one of the back streets which was great to sit away from all the crowd's & more for your money. This is the 1st Hotel that i have not wanted to leave!!!!! My only negative would be the pillow's were lumpy & the mattress a bit hard for me, but that's just my view plus i do suffer with back probs.

Room Tip: All the rooms seemed ok, although the Superior are larger and at the front with good views over the...
