“Fantastico L' Archibugio”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

We have visited the area several times now and always call at this restraurant.
The location could not be better with incredible views down the valley and over nearby villages.
On a summers evening just sitting outside watching the hares running on the nearby fields and listening to the occasional cricket everything seems magical.
You never want to evening to end.
As to the food. You have a brilliant choice of pizza, all prepared while you wait and the choice from the menu is staggering. Everything is home made, the restraurant is family run and it shows. We have never had a bad meal or even a mediocre one there. Everything is fresh, using local ingredients when in season and tastes fantastico .
It is one of the few restraurants we visit whenever we can. There is a real friendly family atmosphere, I mean where else would complete strangers coming into the restraurant say "good evening" to you and then "goodnight" when they leave. I cannot recommend it highly enough

“Delizioso!! Authentic, homemade Italian”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

You will not be disappointed with any meal at L'Archibugio. We stayed at Villa Lugnano for 5 days/nights and enjoyed many primi and secondi piatti on the menu. It was so hard to choose which dish to have so we kept stealing bites from each other's plates. Most of the guests ate here each night. We were joined by many locals who knew where to come for the best food around.

The meal usually starts with a basket of frittini.....small squares of fried pizza dough. The extra special touch is the red sauce (salsa) that comes with it. You will fall in love with the combo and your tongue will do a happy dance. I've never seen the basket sit with any frittini left over. It is usually gone in less than 30 seconds.

My 16 year old son is a bottomless pit right now. Each night, he had a pasta, a pizza and a dessert. The good thing is that I got to eat a bit of each of his dishes to taste. Not one dish was a disappointment. The plates were always empty. The favorite pasta was the Agnellotti, a stuffed half moon pasta with a flavorful meat filling. His favorite pizza was the Bismarck.

I tried to eat a balanced meal with salad, pasta and a vegetable. Never disappointed with any of my choices either. I say balanced because I had to leave room and calories for dessert each night.
My 9 year old usually stuck with a pizza or a pasta. His favorite pizza was the margherita and his favorite pasta was the carbonara.

We were able to take a tour of the kitchen one day. We saw the pasta and pizza dough lovingly made by hand. Everything is fresh and made with the best ingredients. Dante is the master pizza chef. He certainly knows how to make the crust light and flavorful without weighing you down.

By far, my kids loved the Semifreddo dessert. The "fruits of the forest" and the pesca (peach) were chosen on several nights. The ever recurring star of the trip was Nutella. YUM!
Nutella ice cream or Nutella pizza bring a chocolatey smile to everyone.

Not only do you get all of this gastronomic bliss, you get to enjoy it while sitting al fresco. The evening has usually cooled off and you are nestled in the country with a view of the moon and the surrounding hillside. The ever pleasant service by Dante, Luciana, Clara and staff make you wish you were a local and could come back again and again.

“Surprising flavours and amazing landscape”

So,
the place is just magical. it's a very old building on top of a hill where you can look down on all the valley from. wonderful, especially if you sit on the terrace on the first floor. you will be surrounded by nature, and, at night, you will see hares running on the nearby field.

but the food. the food. just so tasty and full of flavor, and color! i had the most exquisite lemon scaloppine ever, and my partner had fusilli trinacria, with dry tomatoes, dry ricotta and
The panna cotta, however, was probably the best one i had in my life. you could really taste the milk, and it was so creamy and delicious! all accompanied by a lovely red wine, and for a very reasonable price.
i totally recommend it. if you are looking for a wonderful place... that's it, you found it.
