This is the perfect place to base yourself to explore Tuscany. We stayed in the family suite (we have 1 teenager), it was 2 stories with lounge room and powder room downstairs and upstairs 2 separate bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom in the en-suite of the main bedroom had a good sized bathtub in a very cute bathroom. The big draw-card here is the location and the restaurant. We ate in a lot of restaurants in our 21 days in Italy but this was by far and above the best. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Another draw-card is the cooking school, this was run by the owner David and a great experience. I would highly recommend Villa Bordoni.

Room Tip: The family suite is 2 separate bedrooms (each with en-suites) and a separate lounge room.

We recently spent 6 nights at Villa Bordoni. I will not repeat all the previous comments but confirm the positive aspects include lovely accommodations; courteous, helpful staff and owners ( special thanks to the receptionist Farida who helped us with several, things even prior to our visit and was delightful when we met in person); delicious food and a beautiful setting.
We stayed in a deluxe queen on the second floor and it was very comfortable and roomy enough. A common " living room" was available for the 4 or 5 rooms on this floor. Great shower, fine linens and very comfortable beds.
For us, the major negative was the 2.5 mile or so road which others have accurately described as partially unpaved and one lane, with literally no ability to do anything but back up if another car approaches. What we didn't realize is that some of these areas had significant drop offs with no rails or even stakes. While this was an adventure whIch became easier during the day, it precluded us leaving or returning after dark.
The food was delicious, but we had looked forward to meeting friends several nights for dinner off the premises, which we were not able to do. No matter how good the food, for us, 6 nights in the same place would be too many. It is a small dining room and one group can affect the dining experience. We did hire a taxi one evening and had another booked, who ended up canceling due to a family situation. Of course, hiring a taxi in this small town is necessary in advance and not inexpensive..

For a get away to relax and enjoy the serenity and beauty, Villa Bordoni would be ideal. But if you like us want a home base for day trips, wine experiences and enjoying local cuisine, I would consider other options for at least a portion of your time.. This opinion is goal based, definitely not related to the facility or the care with which Catherine and David have restored and continue to maintain their Villa. 3 nights would have been perfect.

We stayed here on the recommendation of Rebecca from Tuscan Wine Tours. We did a tour with her in 2005 and she told us her friends were in the process of opening a hotel in Greve. We vowed when we returned to Italy, we would try out Villa Bordoni, and we are so happy we did!

Catherine and David, the owners are wonderful hosts. They are so accommodating. During our trip, we were in the middle of buying a home back in the states and Catherine was so gracious in helping us out with faxing the necessary paperwork back to our bank. It was a stressful time for us, but Catherine was able to ease our anxiety. Thank you again, Catherine! We could not have done it without you.

Now, to the property itself. It is truly amazing: the accommodations, the food, and of course, the staff! We stayed in the Chapel Room. It was right off the reception area with an original wooden door entry. The bathroom is decorated with beautiful ceramic tile. The attention to detail in the rooms and reception area is truly remarkable. It is very much in keeping with the period of the villa. They did a beautiful job!

We enjoyed having breakfast every morning in the garden. We were so fortunate to have wonderful weather. Breakfast consisted of a variety of juices, coffee, hot chocolate, breads/jams, and meats. For a small price, the chef will prepare a warm breakfast for you. We enjoyed dinner in their restaurant. The food was outstanding, and I have to give a big shout out to Hugo who provided exceptional service to us during our entire stay. I also have to mention Chef Colin's white chocolate raspberry tiramisu. It was sinful! I still think about it!

We found Villa Bordoni so relaxing. It is located on a narrow dirt road, one that I would not want to drive on at night, but that is what makes this place so charming. The views are just incredible! We spent our mornings walking the property and along the dirt road and taking the beautiful scenery and thinking we could live here.

We will definitely return on our next visit to Tuscany. If you are looking for relaxing accommodations with exceptional service. Villa Bordoni is your place. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you.

Villa Bordoni was a piece of heaven. Spent 5 wonderful days there. The staff, Hugo, Zaman, and Ricardo were attentive to all our needs. The food was outstanding. David and Catherine were great hosts. Would definitely return and recommend to our family and friends.

The Mrs. and I are not worldly travelers but wanted to visit Tuscany after a daughter went last year. We spent 4 days at Villa Bordoni with another daughter in the junior suite on the top floor. Ample room, especially since we have now experienced Venice accommodations and currently in Roma. Ricardo, David, Catherine, Hugo and rest of the staff was so helpful and informative. We would definitely revisit and recommend Bordoni to friends and family. The wife really liked the mountainous terrain up and down Bordoni to Greve. Great job guys.

The restored hotel and it's rooms are lovely. The service is very attentive and a pleasure to deal with. The front desk will arrange anything you desire. The food is delicious and eating breakfast in the garden is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the day. We will be back!

Villa Bordoni was a peaceful, beautiful piece of Tuscany! We stayed for 4 days and loved every quiet moment. Catherine and David were magnificent hosts to their exquisite Villa! Their staff cannot be beat anywhere. They are friendly, yet respectful of your privacy, they present a very tasty breakfast. The restaurant in the evenings is first rate and the gardens are a great place in the afternoons to have a good glass of wine. The pool area is a nice comfortable place to sit and read. The room was spacious and very clean I must say again the area here is very beautiful ! And once again as nice as the Villa Bordoni is, it was enhanced by their staff who made this wonderful place in Tuscany so memorable for us.

Room Tip: We chose the Cologne suite it was perfect for us it had nice windows to gaze out of. It was quiet ju...
