“Excellent for a relaxing and peaceful holiday”

We have stayed here for over 10 years visiting for 1-2 weeks each year. It is rustic don't expect luxury. The owners are lovely and multi-lingual. It is located a little over a mile from Greve itself which is a beautiful town with good places to eat. It is a villa situated on its own next to the owners (Ettore and Bea) house. The villa is well appointed (we always rent both upstairs and downstairs) easily sleeps 4, or 6 if you are willing to share. It is in the middle of an organic vineyard - the wine is outstanding. Bea also makes jam, bottles fruit etc., she also has her own (published) cookbook. There is a pool overlooking the valley. It is peaceful, tranquil and beautiful. The one drawback is the unmade road to get from the town, unless experienced down the track a 4 wheel drive vehicle is easier.

Lovley small apartment. Perfect for two. A mile walk to town for access to restaurants and pubs and supermarket. Great value .if u want rural peace and quiet and still be within walking distance of town it's perfect . Excellent hosts with multiple languages . Entrance road has no Tarmac so be careful driving in to the property.

“Lovely peaceful location”

From the outside, this is a lovely old farmhouse and villa in a very pretty location. The owners are very welcoming and the extra little touches – a bottle of their own Chianti (delicious) and coffee – were much appreciated. We booked the larger villa which had the kitchen downstairs and the bedroom & living upstairs. The beds were comfortable and the central heating was very efficient. There was also a large selection of books and games if boredom sets in. The downside – a tiny spiral staircase is the only internal access from the kitchen to upstairs-not the best to carry meals and drinks upstairs to the living area. There was also a faint odour throughout which reminded me of kerosene or something similar. Perhaps the pre season cleaning? The wifi is limited to a very small area which we found frustrating. The access road from Greve to the villa was in desperate need of maintenance. Rocks and gullies are great if you have a 4WD but not so kind to the Audi. We decided once a day in and out would be the go. In summary, a lovely place to stay if you really like peace and isolation. Probably more suited to couples or large groups of friends.
