Stayed during the chianti Classico wine festival which is held in the same piazza as the hotel. Breakfast had a good selection. Note parking is not at the hotel and is about 100m away in a free public lot. Please note our GPS did not display the hotel - we parked and asked a local to direct us to the Piazza G Matteoti.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool- may be a bit quieter than the noise of the piazza early in the...

We planned our stay at Albergo del Chianti as a holiday from our holiday, and it was exactly what we hoped it would be. We spent most of our 5 days lounging around the pool, enjoying the cool water on some very hot days. If you are travelling with young children, be aware that the pool's "shallow" end is still quite deep - probably at least 5 feet. We found our triple room a little cramped for a 6 night stay, but were upgraded to a much larger room when we expressed our concerns. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The owners are lovely and very friendly, communicating easily in English. Breakfast was always good and ample.

Room Tip: For the extra 10 Euros, I'd recommend paying for a quadruple room, even if you're only trave...

When we arrived at this hotel it felt so comfortable. We had prompt, friendly service. The staff Andrea and Francesco were great. The hotel was very clean and the cleaning ladies were so friendly and helpful as well. The back patio with the pool was very beautiful and the lobby was charming. Francesco would opened up the front and back of the hotel and let the air stream through every day. The owers would be there daily and were of great value when my husband needed assistance.. For that were are very grateful.... From its location in the beautiful piazza, the hotel had it all for us. A spacious very clean and comfortable room, friendly atmosphere and service, wonderful breakfasts on the beautiful patio daily, good internet service. This hotel made our trip to Tuscany complete and was so romantic.. We will definitely go back as soon as we are blessed to return to that part of the world.

This is a great hotel for a relaxing holiday. It is ideal to explore Tuscany and Greve is good for facilities. The hotel is clean and the staff are caring. The pool is excellent and very welcome whilst it is hot and there is a wide variety of food provided for breakfast. Wifi is free too! What more could you want? Great little find!!!

We arrived late and had no problem with our room reservation.

This little hotel is in a great location in Greve, but in our one night stay we had a few problems. One, the hair dryer fell off the wall on me, and when I the desk came up to see what was wrong, he suggested I hold the main part of the hair dryer on the wall while I dried my hair. I told him that wouldn't work, so he came back up with a traveling portable. That was fine, but then the air conditioner was horrible. It was very hot in the region 90's during the day, but the A/C in our room never cooled down below 28degrees C, (equivalent to 82 F) the whole night. It should have been able to cool below this regardless of it being 85F outside during the night. The breakfast was great, and quite a selection, but then at check out the credit card machine wasn't working that morning, so we were forced to pay in cash as we checked out. The property needs an over-haul, and I travel around Europe yearly, so this wasn't that small town charm kinda thing.

This is a great hotel for Tuscany countriside relaxing. Greve in Chianti was generally a great choice to stay to visit around the Chianti region. This hotel was an excellent choice. Its situated in the main plaza of Greve, right in the centre. In a 300 meters there is a free communal parking where there is a plenty of parking spaces available. vine Museum, Le Cantine, a handful of good restaurants and Antiqua Macelleria are situated within a couple of minutes from the hotel. The hotel itself is very tidy and arranged with a superb open air dining and breakfast area, surrounded by plants. The pool is excellent, so you can relax between city walks, trips and wine tastings. The room was spatious and well maintained. If I try hard to find something that could be improved would be the air condition which could be a bit less noisy. The staff was great. They were very hospitable, very receptive to visitor needs and had a genuine Italina sense of humor. Do not miss David. The room had air condition, and minibar, internet was workingin the room as well, and also by the pool as well. It was 94 EUR per night. It was a great value for money and I recommend for everyone who would like to find a convenient base to explore the Chianti region.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights using it as a base for exploring the Chianti and other areas of Tuscany. The hotel is located right on the main piazza in Greve in Chianti. Greve is a nice little town with a bustling Saturday morning market.

We booked this hotel more than 2 months in advance. About a week prior to our arrival we emailed the hotel to alert them that we would be arriving in the evening, so as to insure no problems with our reservation. Despite our efforts, we were extremely disappointed to learn upon arrival that our room had been given away and we were given the "apartment", which is detached from and behind the hotel. No Wifi, no Lift, and NO apologies.

They switched our room the next night. That room was better, but we were already inconvenienced by having to unpack, repack, and then unpack again.

On the positive side, the pool area and grounds were quite nice. Breakfast was included but was just average however. We had a car and were directed to a town parking lot (free parking) about 3 blocks away to park our car.

Also, through several comments made by one of the Owners, there appeared to be a slight anti-American bias. My wife felt uncomfortable during this stay.

Cannot recommend this hotel since there appeared to be better options in the Chianti.

Room Tip: Do not allow them to give you "the Apartment"!
