Albergo del Chianti
Ranked #5 of 19 Hotels in Greve in Chianti

The staff could not be bothered to even come to the desk when we wanted to check in or give them our keys as we left. I stayed there for the few nights before my wedding, and my wife stayed at a neighboring hotel, as per tradition. The staff were extremely rude to my wife and made us both feel very unwelcomed. When we wanted to use the pool she was thrown out. Nothing special about the hotel, small, overpriced rooms, cleanliness was fine and locAtion was fine (in the main square). My wife had a much cheaper hotel with her family and it had much more personality and super friendly and helpful staff.

the customer that we stayed in a single room, without asking for permission to the staff, called in the pool of 'other hotels 5, 6 people including his girlfriend, who stayed in other facilities in the country without a pool, when staff noticed that other people were in the pool has politely asked to leave the water, but for response were severely injured.
Our pool is only for hotel guests, people can stay outside in the garden but not inside the pool water, because we do not have insurance coverage for external customers, so in case of problems or accidents, we are directly responsible and this is not acceptable to us.
Above all people were very rude and noisy.

this hotel is in a superb location on the main square, with a beautiful garden and swimming pool at the rear. a real oasis in the small town. comfortable air conditioned rooms. good breakfasts, very friendly staff and owner. free use of internet. no evening meals but as on main square plenty of choice nearby. free parking about 50 to 100 metres from hotel. i would reccomend the hotel to friends.

We have been to this hotel for a number of years and always find many other guests who return year after year.
The family always make us very welcome especially Francesca and David.
They are fantastic guys - with a great sense of humour and Greve is a lovely town.
If you want a good laugh and a central location to explore Tuscany, Florence & Sienna you need to stay here.

We stayed at this mid-sized hotel for 4 nights in June 2011, but have stayed many times before and will hopefully stay many times in the future. The location is so good to access so many lovely places in Tuscany and the family that own and run the hotel are extremely helpful to guests in all respects, from advice on where to visit to booking restaurants. The breakfasts set you up for the day and the pool and garden are just what is needed after a hot day in the Tuscan sunshine. While the hotel has no parking of it's own, you can drop off and pick up in the square just by the door and there is a FREE car park just 2 minutes walk away. Great value and a pleasure to stay there.

Room Tip: Romm 101 is like an apartment, very spacious

Very dated hotel with very dated fixtures and fittings. All seems very much out of place in the lovely Tuscan hills. Not ideally situated either as doom days you can't get the car to the hotel to drop off your luggage! Parking is also a fair bit away. The worst of the stay was at the end when we came to pay and we were informed that they had no card machine! No mention of this at check in though!

Breakfast was shocking with very little choice and a complete lack of fresh fruit.

You'd do well to avoid this hotel.

We are very surprised at the comment, the hotel is not new but neither reduced pain as you would have us believe, our breakfast consists of all sweet and savory foods, cereals, etc..
I believe that all his problems and his desire to discredit our hotel due to the fact that it was not possible to pay by credit card, but sometimes it happens in smaller countries.
I urge you to correct the notes from our hotel, defamatory, otherwise you will be contacted by our lawyer.
comments on the internet are a serious matter for our work, you can not afford to play and hurt our work.
I'm sorry but your comment does not reflect reality, as everyone can see from the other comments on trip advisor so I will fight with all our strength and all the tools that the law provides.

We stayed one Saturday night in room 108 and were pleasantly surprised. It is on the 2nd floor and has a great view of the square from the room. The room is a generous size and very clean, quiet, and the queen size bed is one piece (not 2 singles) and very comfortable. Bathroom amenities were also generous, including cotton buds! There is a bar fridge; great for keeping wine for the evening. Plenty of public free parking is also available 2 mins walk from the square.
The man running the place is so friendly and laid back. He obviously enjoys his work and genuinely cares about his guests. Breakfast is buffet and was the best we had during our 2 weeks in Italy; eggs, cereal, toast, juice, coffee, croissants and pastries, fruit, yoghurt.. and is served in their outdoor dining setting in a beautiful garden terrace. There is a great local market in the square on Saturdays. I enjoyed sampling the local produce from here. This was one of the best hotels of our trip and I wouldn't hesitate to return again.

When we arrived in Greve, we had no reservation and found this hotel in the corner of the square. English is spoken and very helpful. There is no parking in the square but there is free parking lot up the road. Easy walk. There is a wonderful wood fire pizza place across the street.
when you first walk in this hotel you would think that this hotel has a full service bar and restaurant, but this area is only used for parties. What a let down. The out side is a gem. A medium pool is hidden among lemon trees and you would think you were in your on little villa on a hot day. Unfortunately we did not get to use this area, but would have if had more time . Breakfast is very good, more than enough choices for one to make.
The only issue we found with hotel was the rooms needed some serious updates. The hair dryer is like the back end of a vacuum hose. The shower leaked all over the place The bathrooms are outdated along with the bedroom. It was very warm in early May and the AC per Italian law can not be turned on until May 10. All you can do is open the windows and let in the cool air in at night. Beware the noise level is high in the square.
There is a bread store next to the hotel and the smells from that little store were intoxicating in early morning hours, with our windows open.
