Owner description: Visitors to this romantic estate have agreed the trip was well worth it: the family is warm and hospitable, the grounds are ruggedly romantic and the wines are impressive.

We were a group of 5 that took a bus from Florence, and then started the walk up towards Castello di Verrazzano. Reviews said it would take about 30 minutes, (likely would have taken about 45), however about 10 minutes in we flagged down the shuttle (which apparently we could have called from the bottom) and they drove us the rest of the way-which was great as we were running late. The grounds are gorgeous, and we did a wine tour and tasting. We were the only group there at the time, so it was a private tour for 5 was awesome. Simon, our guide, was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly, and with a great sense of humor. We sampled wine, as well as the balsamic vinegar that is aged 12 years. We didn't have the time or option to do the food tour given our schedule, but based on the cheese and balsamic, I would imagine it is delicious. Highly recommend for a taste of Chianti.

Wanted a Chianti experience, and this didn't disappoint. Had the wine and food experience at 12. Amazing tour with Gino who was the most amazing host. Followed by a wine tasting and lunch. Gino stayed with us during lunch and continued to regale us with further tales regarding chianti's history.

We took a guided tour through the castle and winery, including wine tasting. The castle is very beautiful and we could also learn something about wine producing. The tour was guided excellent by the tour host Gino. Great place, great tour - excellent place to visit.

My husband and I took the lunch tour and the food and wine and grounds were all amazing. They give you the bottles of wine for the table, not just a small tasting. the castle and history was fascinating and the food... you'll remember forever. Pricey but well worth it!

We visited the castle and winery for a tour and lunch in August 13. The tour was very interesting, including visiting the cellars, understanding the differences in wine making, even how Vino Santo is made and how the color of the wine is derived from the barrels. Set in Grieve in Chianti, this part of Tuscany is very peaceful and beautiful. We also stayed for the lunch. You do not want to miss this especially with the tasting of their wines. A long and pleasant lunch, and not rushed at all. Everyone was extremely nice and couldn't do enough for us. The wine, wow! My favorite was the Classico Riserva, but the others were quite good as well. Do not miss this place.
