Owner description: Visitors to this romantic estate have agreed the trip was well worth it: the family is warm and hospitable, the grounds are ruggedly romantic and the wines are impressive.

We went to the Thursday night Farm Dinner. Wonderful night with a really fun and diverse group. Tour guide was a little under the weather, but very knowledgeable and made the tour of the castello's fine cellars Interesting. The Dinner was delightful and the wine pairings made them, even more fun. A crisp dry Rose started the meal with the antipasti, a chianti with the pasta, a chianti reserva withe the secundi, and a super tuscan, with cheese and balsamic vinegar finishing with coffee and Vin Santo.......What more could you want? Oh yea, fabulous lodgings 2k away. I'll review the B and B as well. But I highly recommend not driving much further than down the driveway.

Our tour felt like it was a bit rushed. Our guide was very funny and very likeable, but seemed like he was herding us through the castle without really explaining some of things we were seeing. What was in the huge barrels? Were they real bottles of ageing wine or fakes for show complete with man made dust? Seemed like he had been doing this for a long time and was a little tired of the crowds. Other than that the food was amazing, the wine outstanding and no hard sell at the end.

Gino was a great tour guide and the setting and grounds of the castle are fantastic. The lunch and tour were good value, with plentiful food and wine produced on the estate. When they say it's a 30 minute walk up the hill if you're getting the bus they mean it...that's 30 mins at a quick pace. Luckily Gino and his son picked us up on the way...A recommended activity in Greve.

We were recommend to visit Castello Di Verrazzano by the lady who owns the villa we stayed in whilst in Tuscany. We were daring and turned up to the winery without having made a booking or reservation fortunately luck was on our side and four guests who booked hadn't showed up for the lunch tour and they were able to accommodate us. Our guide Mateo was extremely informative and engaging. He enthusiastically answered every ones questions and spoke perfect English. Not only did we have a comprehensive tour we also had the best meal on our trip. The three course lunch included an antipasto of meats including wild boar salami, fresh pasta, handmade sausages and pork ribs cooked on a rustic open wood fire grill and oven. And of course the Chianti wines matched each course perfectly. Lastly the drive to the estate in Greti is something you will never forget I highly recommend they you take the scenic tourist route opposed to the autostrada (which at times can be a tad daunting as the roads become quite narrow) as you will see and experience the true Tuscan country side which is absolutely spectacular.
This tour was worth every cent and was extraordinarily good value for money!

We booked the wine tour with the lunch and all I can say is that it is the best value for a wine tour we have ever taken. The location is amazing, the tour informative and the end where you get to sample the wine and the lunch well that is simply unbelievable for the price. I had read somewhere that if you book this be prepared to eat later, well I can tell you there was no way we were eating again until dinner after this light lunch - It was perfect - I included some pictures for you to make your own decisions, but believe me it is definitely worth the money and the trip
