I keep going back. The Saturday Market is phenomenal, but where to start? The bakery, the simple restaurants under the porticoes, the famous butcher Falorni with his great salame…the wine. I often stay at the ALBERGO DEL CHIANTI, friendly, convenient and they make their own wine which is not to be missed.

We had rented a car while in Florence. So we drove around Tuscany. When we reached Chianti in general, we couldn't believe how beautiful the area was. Grieve is so graphic and calm. We ate at a restaurant in the piazza . A very small but warm restaurant at the right side of the piazza. The best food we had during our stay and the wine was amazing!

A pretty triangular piazza with the church at the top of the triangle.
Many shops and restaurants line each side. The bread and pastry shops are to die for.

Lovely square that is shaped like a triangle. It is has lots of restaurants, shops and cured meat stores. Nice quick stop for lunch and on market days, shopping. A famous cured meat store 'Antica Macelleria Falorni' is situated here.

This piazza isn't too big but it's still very good. If you are looking for souvenirs keep in mind most of the stores close at 730p (or at least they did on the days we were there in September). Obviously you will find plenty of selection for Chianti souvenirs such as things with Gallo Nero (The black rooster). There are a few leather shops and one or two high end clothing shops, plus and assortment of tourist shops, restaurants, and gelato. Like most piazzas in Italy, you will enjoy sitting down, taking it all in, and people watching. Parking in the piazza can be tough, but there is a parking structure about a block or so away with free parking.
