“Peaceful and friendly”

In september last year, we stayed for 5 nights in studio Nio, a lovely appartment with private kitchen. Although our place stayed really cool because it was at the ground floor, it was also a bit noisy because we could clearly hear the neighbours upstairs walking around.
The whole house was beautiful authentic and we enjoyed this atmosphere and being in the countryside very much. Thanks to the central location, this B&B is a perfect starting point from which we took trips to Florence, Siena and other towns. The use of a car is abslotuley neccessary, as there is no towncentre at walking distance. Also you have to drive a bumpy last 2 km on a unpaved road to reach the house, which was a bit challenging at first, but we found it definiteley worth to take to reach the peace and quiet.
The owner Simonetta is really friendly and helpful. She gave us lots of privacy but was there when we need her. Every morning she arranged a perfect breakfast for us on her porch.
We enjoyed her hospitality and would definitly go back if we have the change!

We spent two nights at Simoneta and her family at their lovely B&B. It was the perfect Tuscan peace and beauty. The rooms were big and comfortable, the host were warm and helpful and the view lovely. If you are out for a peaceful and lovely stay away from the everyday rush, this is the place. But you can easilly combine staying here with trips to Siena and Firenze.
We would definitly come back!

Very nice and authentic atmosphere. All kinds of farm animals running around. Clean and spacious rooms equipped with kitchenettes. The water in the pool was cold but refreshing on hot days. The road to Lionforti was not in very good condition but still drivable.

If you're looking for an experience similar to Diane Lane's in 'Under The Tuscan Sun'...you found here. Simonetta's beautiful Tuscan home (old, beautiful, well-decorated, cozy, kitchen fully stocked with all the tools, great big beds, tv, clean & new bathroom, etc) couldn't have been more perfect for what we wanted. There are a few wineries in the area, so we spent the day walking to each of them. We were in the middle of nowhere yet there was an unbelievable restaurant fairly nearby (Simonette picked us up after our dinner -- she is lovely). Simonette also will cook dinner for you, if you make a reservation. The meal we enjoyed was probably the best we had while in Tuscany: appetizers of Italian sausage, cheese with honey and marmalade, first course of the most amazing pesto pasta (that she made herself), then traditional meat concoctions (forget the name) followed by almond biscotti and vinsanto (a traditional Italian after dinner drink -- perfect). Simonetta has two adorable dogs (which are locked inside her gate) and she has a donkey, a horse, and some turtles. You will absolutely love your stay here! -Erin, 27 yrs old, Canada.

We stayed for one week with Simonetta in Lionforti da Vico. We stayed in Il Fico which was decorated in traditional Tuscany style. Since we brought our baby boy of 11 months we wanted a house/apartment with some space and a good kitchen. And we were not disappointed!

The place is pretty secluded in the hills between Siena and Florence. Luckily our TomTom navigator found it easily. The apartment had plenty space a comfortable baby bed and a good kitchen. Simonetta who is the owner made us delicious breakfast every morning. And she even borrowed us some toys and a baby bath for our boy to play with.

The apartment is built in a house together with 3 other apartments. But you would not notice this inside because of the traditional building with very thick walls. The beds are a little hard but that is commonplace in the south of Europe. We slept fine on them. It has a private garden and BBQ just for you. Besides that there is a medium sized pool (not heated) and garden. A horse, donkey, goat, dogs and cats make the idyllic scenery complete.

We had a lovely week and are definitely planning on coming back in the future!

A little gem, if you are after peace and quiet. We were pleasantly suprised staying here. Once you have found the place, which for the first time is a challenge you stumble across a stunning little rustic hamlet of about four or five houses with incredible views in the tuscan mountains. The sense of peace is all pervading. The room that we had was large with an equipped kitchenette and large ensuite all furnished in traditional country style as you would expect. Simonetta was most helpful and charming and the brekfast was ample with goose eggs from the garden. I found this place far more attractive than the photos show which do not do it justice. Although we only stayed one night enroute, I'll definately be back.
