“Unexpected gem”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Our family of 6 were fortunate to visit this gem of a restaurant on the last day of their 2012 season before their planned closure for the winter months.
Filippo was an attentive host and we were both informed and entertained thru-out our long lunch with information of the region and the food on offer.
We each ate different entree and maIn dishes, all willing to share samples from our plates for others at the table. Dessert was another highlight for us all as well as the now familiar Lemoncello to finish.
This restaurant is our local for our extended stay in Lamole and we have every intention of returning for their 2013 menu. It is well worth the 9 kilometre hill climb from Greve in Chianti.

“Ah, bene...mostly.”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

We were part of a very large family group that stayed for a month in a villa just up the street from the restaurant, so it became our local eatery.

Food was highly variable - the meatloaf was like bland cardboard, but the pear pasta was to die for. Views were spectacular and service fantastic. Watch the seemingly free alcohol that gets served after meals - it will definitely appear on the bill.

“What a find!”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

It took some doing, but we made our way up the hills of Tuscany from Greve-in-Chianti to this wonderful restaurant highly recommended by friends. Well worth the extra effort -- the food is simply superb. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and speak excellent English. Try the warm sweet onion pudding to start -- really, it's very special (as is everything on the menu!) Plus -- get there in time to watch the sunset over the Tuscan hills. Ahhhhh.

“Location and service top notch - food rustic and very good”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

Excellent italian produce, antipasti of high quality. Steak Fiorentina is very good, Homemade potatochips takes this side order to another level and cant be beaten.
Winelist is good, top Tuscan reds, medium priced. Nice drive and scenery up to Lamole if youre coming from Greve.

“Our new favorite restaurant in Chianti”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

We planned a visit based on the TA reviews; made a reservation by email. We found the restaurant without problems. There is free parking adjacent. And the views! We adore mountain views; there were snow capped mountains in the distance! With vineyards and olive groves and forests. WOW!
We were ushered to a table on the terrace with a heater nearby to keep the temperatures comfortable. The menu had several tempting choices. I had a roasted beet salad that I remember to this day. My husband and I selected the Lamole wine and found it superb with our selections. We finished off with a tiramisu and a complementary limoncello. A wonderful meal and experience.
The staff was very friendly. Some stopped to practice their English with us; some to tell us of their travels in the U.S. We felt so welcome.
