We stayed at the Sporthotel for Christmas 2012 expecting a charming experience in a great location....We were not disappointed in any way. In fact, the hotel exceeded expectations on just about every level.

Keen skiers, location was important - the hotel is 50m from the piste.

The interior is full of character and charm - very traditional. The decor and cleanliness were without fault.

The bedroom was large with the added bonus of a balcony view over Arabba. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels also changed every day. Bathroom was classic/modern, a decent size and had a decent power shower.

Facilities: excellent spa with everything one might expect.

Food: simply outstanding - breakfast was varied and extensive. Dinner was definitely restaurant quality. The Christmas Eve feast (an 8 course affair) was undoubtedly one of the memorable culinary events we've experienced.

Last, but definitely not least was the service: exemplary - friendly, efficient and calm. Nothing seemed too much trouble and it is refreshing to feel a) that your custom was valued and, b) that one is made to feel genuinely welcome.

Comments have been made about the wine and the price. Well, there are several more reasonable offerings at around €15-€18. The hotel, though, has a considerable cellar that it prides itself on. Given the quality of the food, and the whole experience, be prepared to spend that little bit more would be my advice - there are some superb wines to be had.

All in all, I couldn't recommend the Sporthotel highly enough and certainly hope to return at some point.

This 4 star hotel had been recommended by another couple, and we booked it for a week's ski holiday. Not a bad decision! Location is good, and the quality of the building, fittings and furniture was excellent. The restaurant was beautifully appointed with a menu that should please most and helpful friendly staff that tried hard to meet the needs of their clients. The bedrooms are well-equipped and very comfortable, and most have a mountain view.
The only slight niggles I had were: the piano bar for aperitivs was lovely, but only had a pianist playing on one out of seven evenings - despite the brochure promising 7/7. And, there was a definite shortage of waiting staff in the bars and lounges. Fetching our own drinks from the bar sounds more like an English pub than a four star hotel.
Also, we (and several other couples) complained about the noisy drunken Polish men in the bedroom corridor outside our room at 1 - 3.30am over several nights. It took more than 48 hours for the hotel to approach the Poles and get them to be quiet. The hotel night porter on the first night it happened just shrugged the incident off!

Perfectly situated opposite the lifts the sporthotel has possibly the best location of all the hotels in arabba.
Rooms are traditional, clean and comfortable with fabulous bathrooms. They are well maintained by the room staff and we were very happy with the terrific view of Arabba.
The main hotel areas are comfortable and relaxing but the ambience was spoiled by noisy children while we were staying there which was such a shame - we deliberately choose dates out of school holidays so were suprised to see so many.
We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and the food was outstanding but we have to say that it wasn't as good this time round - we were a little disappointed because of our high expectations but even so while it wasn't awful it just wasn't great. The staff worked very hard to make the experience a good one. The service is faultless.
For skiers there are great locker facilities and there's a welcoming spa with beauty treatments, massage etc..
The bar area is ok - but drinks are very expensive.
All round a reasonable stay

I was very pleasantly surprised by the whole atmosphere into the hotel, the interior design creates a very warm and cozy environment, the fireplace and the live music in the evenings adding a touch of refinement. The rooms are generous, the upgraded versions (with balcony and extra space) are even spectacular and the general atmosphere is very family friendly. Kids were having also a great time and spent the evenings in the generous area of the lobby.

The ski slopes are right across the street, very convenient. From what we have seen in Arabba is one of the best positioned 4 star hotels in the area.

Services were also very good and food as well. We had 8 days spent there, half board, which we would not probably take next time as the food is excellent and there is a tendency to overindulge in the evenings:-)

This is a lovely hotel, well run and providing outstanding service. It is conveniently positioned for both sides of Arabba skiing and there is a comfortable ski room. The rooms are pleasantly decorated and comfortable - the only slight discomfort for us were the rather firm mattresses but that is probably a personal preference.
The restaurant is elegant, the food good and plentiful and the service again is top quality.
This is a first class hotel distinguished by truly outstanding service. From the initial reservation to our departure everyone had been helpful, pleasant and efficient. A gem of a hotel and we look forward to coming back.

Located in one of the most beautiful places on earth! A real food for the eyes. Offers a warm service for an affordable prices. A real 5 stars hotel!

The only thing that had bother us was the widows curtains which didn't block the sun light very well, therefore late wakening was not possible.

Fantastic Hotel , friendly staff and you can see it is a family owned as they care from the minute you walk in . Everything is done to the high standard and not pretentious. Food is out of this world.
We will visit again as Arabba has the bests access to the ski slopes in the Dolomites and as this is the best hotel it is the only place to stay when you are in Arabba.
