Please see the previous review. A good basic hotel with very small shower rooms. Clean. Nice staff. Parking. Fair breakfast for the price. Use of main hotel's facilities where you store skis and boots.
The drains are clearly a long running problem. The solution is a cloth and an upturned saucer over the shower drain and leave the window open. Unacceptable, hence the one star

Room tip: Valley view fabulous. Smelly drains a deal breaker

A very basic hotel. Clean but quite spartan. Nice staff. Bathrooms very small - shower cubicles ditto. Main reason for the one star review is that there was a strong stench of drains in the bathroom. The problem must have been known about, as a large amount of air freshener had been applied just before we arrived. We complained and bleach was put down the drain, but it was ineffective. We don't think that is good enough, even in a budget hotel such as this. Wouldn't go back!

Stayed here recently with a group of friends. We had bed and breakfast at this hotel and then dinner at the Hotel Porovescovo which is a few minutes walk in to the town. Although this is not perfect it worked ok. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were ok with great views. They were, however, a bit small especially as there were three of us in our room which was not a triple, it was a double with an extra bed! For three large men this did not leave a lot of room. The shower cubicle is also a bit tight for ex-rugby players to fit in to! The wifi was a intermittent and not too many power sockets. There was a pleasant lounge area and bar area which doubled as the breakfast room. We were all impressed with breakfast. Lots of choice of juices, fruits, yoghurts, cereals, breads, meat and cheeses and pastries. There was also bacon and scrambled eggs available which was very nice. The toaster takes a while (turn it on, eat your cereal and fruit and it will then be just about done!!). The hot drink machine was ok but not great.
Overall, we thought it was good value for what it was and the great skiing nearby helped a lot.

We stayed at the Bellavista for a week's skiing holiday, through Inghams. It is on one of the main roads out of town. It is a sister hotel to the Hotel Portavescovo in town and dinner is taken at the Portavescovo (6 minute walk). Breakfast is at the Bellavista. Tea/coffee/beer/cake are available at the Bellavista in the afternoon - note not included in 1/2 Board costs. You have access to the spa facilities at the Portavescovo but there is also a sauna at the Bellavista. Skis are stored at the Portavescovo. A private locker key is provided (20 Euro deposit). The slopes are a 1 minute walk from the Portavescovo.

The Good -The rooms are warm and clean with large, comfortable (firm) beds and pillows. The bathroom is well-stocked re towels, shower gel, cotton buds etc. There is plenty of hot water including at 6.30am. Accessing WiFi is simple. The view from our balcony (room 3) is lovely. The curtains really block out the light well - no need for my eye mask for a change!
Breakfast buffet (7.30-9.30am) is ample. Boiled eggs, bacon and scrambled eggs, assorted breads/cakes/cheese/meats/jams/cereals/fruit/yoghurts. Various teas incl Ceylon and chamomile, and a coffee machine (espresso, cappuccino etc). Eccentric toaster just about did the job (be very patient, at least 3 mins for hot bread).
All staff are very pleasant and helpful, with better English than has historically been the norm in this part of Italy.
The sauna (downstairs 2 floors) is spotlessly clean and open in the afternoons. It has an associated shower area with shower gel and its own towels. You are expected to shower first. We wore our swimming costumes; local custom is to go nude. We never had company - so peaceful!
The hotel provided a packed breakfast for us on departure morning - not sure if this is standard or just for those on package holidays.

The Bad - The walls/ceiling are rather thin, not helped by the uncarpeted floors. Conversations, TV, bathroom fans, toilets etc can be easily heard. I was glad I had taken my ear plugs. Husband (usually doesn't notice these things) helped himself to a pair.
The shower cubicle is not large. The base diameter (square) is 60cm. We are small and skinny (max dimensions 5'7'' and 64kg husband) and found our elbows knocked the controls constantly. Beware if you are tall or broad!
The WiFi signal in our room was not strong and dropped out at least 3x per evening.
There are not many electrical sockets in the room - we found 3 - 2 were used by bedside lights, the 3rd by the TV. So you could either charge your phone OR use the light.
There are no tea/coffee facilities in the room.

In all, it was a nice place to stay but the noise irritation and distance to dinner means the price would have to be right to stay again.

This hotel was just perfect. Staff was friendly. Size of the room was fine, not big but also not small, I would say perfect for what we need. We had a balcony with 2 sun loungers for sunbathing and amazing view on the whole Arabba. Centre and restaurants were 7 min walk from hotel. Breakfast was great. They had both sweet (croissants, cakes) and salty things including scrambled eggs and bacon and small pizzas with cheese and ham.
