We came here for lunch after our morning visit to Villa Romana del Casale. I agree with the reviewer who said that Da Gianna is one of the reasons why you love Italy. Our driver couldn't find the restaurant, so Salvatore (who runs the restaurant with his wife Gianna) got in his car and met us to guide us the rest of the way.

We sat outside under a canopy in a charming but not busy square. Throughout the meal we were made to feel like family. The antipasti. the pasta and the wine were excellent and the complimentary limoncello was so good we got some to take with us. The limoncello, as well as the food, were obviously homemade and authentic, just like being at their house for lunch. Except for the bill, of course, but that was very reasonable.

If you are looking for a place to eat in connection with a visit to the Villa Romana (which is amazing), this is the place to go.

Ate here on Easter Sunday evening & was the only person there, its tiny with only 3 tables, 14 places (but on warm days they cater for up to 50 including outside, which they'd obviously done at lunch but were still open!). No real menu but Gianna offered fresh pasta & some Easter lamb which were both really tasty & it made for a wonderful different rural Sicilian experience, not surprised to see it so high in Trip Advisor ratings! Very good value too!

Da Gianna is one of reasons why you love Italy. Good home cooked food typical of the area offered at a good price, warm welcome, lovely dinning outside for dinner, even a complimentary lemoncello before leaving.

I went with a group of school students, and within half an hour we were eating freshly cooked pasta with three different kinds of sauces. This was quick, considering that we had not booked at all, and just turned up at the trattoria. The trattoria is very small inside, but tables are outside in the piazza. You could actually see the food being cooked. Lovely, friendly service. We paid 8 euros which included pasta, drink and service.

Almost no decoration, simple plastic tables and chairs on a quiet terrasse, but delicious and simple sicilian food, family ambiance and small prices.
This is a family trattoria: the mother cooks, the father and the daughter take the orders. The welcome is warm and simple. The menu is short, with an emphasis on the basics: traditional antipasti, grilled meat and fish, pasta. My family and I (parents and two small kids) had dinner three times at Da Gianna with an equal pleasure. We particularly appreciated the antipasti del mare (marinated fish and calmars), the grilled veal with olive oil and the different pasta (with sardins and a lot of unidentified ingredients). Bread is one of the best we ever tasted in Italy.
