B&B Porta di Mare is a bit difficult to find. It is clean, new-built in 2009, comfortable and nicely decorated. I stayed in a room with a 4 poster double bed with swags. The hostess showed us the room across the hall which was designed for disabled people (although I don't know how they would get to the bedroom there are so many steps outside to get there) and another new bedroom with another 4 poster double bed on the main level and a loft that had sleeping space for three children.
We were given three keys; one for our room and two for two consecutive outside doors, so there is plenty of security.
The B&B is located just a block down the hill toward the sea from the large piazza and Basilica in town. They don't serve food there, but they have an arrangement with a nearby bakery (right across the street from the Basilica) for guests to get a cup of coffee or tea and a sweet roll in the morning.
It's a 2-3 block walk down to the port, but the water can't be seen from the hotel. No matter; at 50 euros a night, the room was a steal! We visited there in May, 2012.
