“Nice big hotel”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

In our tour of Puglia, we spend 3 nights at this hotel.
It is a large hotel with a nice lobby and gardens around.
The first dinner was in a separate room for the group, the food was OK but slow in serving.
Next morning breakfast also in the small room, but was not satisfactory so we were moved to the big dinning room. Next days were all in the big room, which in spite of being very crowded with all the tours groups, was good.
Also it was a problem the first night, that in some rooms it was not hot water in the showers. Our tour leader talked to the hotel management and all the group was moved to the newer area. The move was done by the hotel personnel and everything went fine meanwhile we were touring the area.
Although the hotel is located in the middle of fields, it was not a problem when you have a coach with your group and takes you to all the places of the tour.

We stayed there two nights. Very well maintained and modern looking. Service was generally good. Breakfasts were very good. No complaints. Would definitely stay there again if in the area. Highly recommended.

Hotel was very large and used by coach parties, was very noisy at meal time in the large dinning room.We where put in the small room which is a passage to the main dinning room, the bar was staffed on most nights by only one member of staff so took a long wait to be served. A choice of menu but the meals were served on cold plats and so the food was only just warm, several people sent their food back for being cold. Swimming pool only opens from the 15 May and the water is cold.Rooms large and clean with spa bathrooms but didn't feel like trying it out for I didn't know how clean the plumbing was. Could not get the air conditioning down to less than 21c even though I had asked the reception to turn it down on the computer. The hotel was immaculate with large pleasant gardens.Tied to hotel it being so far from a town and no where to go after the evening meal except the bar in the hotel

Room Tip: All the rooms seemed to be very quite and thick carpets kept the noise down and being so far from an...

This is a special hotel. The choice was Travelsphere's but hurrah for us that they chose it as the hub for a holiday in Puglia (Apulia to us Brits). We had set menus, with a choice out of three starters, three main and three desserts - there was not a meal I did not thoroughly enjoy. The portions may have veered towards nouvelle cuisine but personally I think that is healthier ... especially for someone like me who feels that they have to eat everything that's put in front of them

And as for the staff! They were a delight. So, so friendly - even after just a week there were goodbye hugs.

Even if not on an organised trip I'd go back. The hotel is a popular wedding location and venue and Italians having a good time is so infectious.

Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony - the jasmine flavours the air.

We stayed two nights on a driving tour of Puglia. With your own transport this is a good location, and we visited several interesting places across the region. We had dinner in the hotel one night (away from the coach parties which rather dominate at this time of year) and chose from the full menu, which was excellent. The restaurant service was very good, and the rooms are large and quite well appointed BUT wi-fi in our wing was almost non-existent, and the air conditioning was completely out. Although the temperature was only low 20s, it meant that the room was quite warm and having the window open was only worth doing with the curtains open as well, which meant waking up when the sun came up and the coach parties set off (when we wanted a lie in). Pool was also out of action. Given the price, the hotel quality was generally good but was let done by these irritations. NB: The pizza restaurant on the way into Alberobello is well worth a visit and incredible value.

This is a modern, functional hotel in landscaped gardens designed to host weddings and tour parties complete with trulli houses that can be hired as well as rooms in the main building. This hotel runs smoothly but at times the dining rooms which run into each other seem rather noisy and crowded. The meals we had were designed for large groups so were limited in menu. We noticed that independent visitors ate from a different but rather expensive menu. Our food was acceptable whilst not being memorable. The red house wine at 14€ a bottle was rather nice. Breakfasts were better with eggs and bacon cooked freshly to order and a good variety on offer but juice was long life from cartons. Why this is necessary when the fields around the hotel are harvesting fresh fruit in season, I can't imagine. However there was fresh fruit on 3 of the 4 days we were there. The rooms are well appointed and we were lucky enough to have one that overlooked a modern statue, gardens ,trulli houses and the hill in the distance. The swimming pool was still open at the end of September so we could swim every day in lovely surroundings although my husband found the unheated pool a little cold. We did not use it but there is a courtesy bus that will take you to and bring you back from Alberobello. Walking from the hotel is difficult but we did stroll round the grounds after dinner. Beware the biting insects. Added interest was a great collection of classic cars whose owners were there for the Rally dei trulli. One night we were disturbed by a party arriving late.

Room Tip: Higher floors and not looking internally onto the walkway to the pool.

We stayed at this hotel in October 2013 as part of a Saga tour of Southern Italy. The hotel is built and finished to a very high specification with good sized and comfortable rooms. There is a large outdoor pool with all the facilities you would expect in a top quality hotel. Although we were on a tour with a limited menu selection the food was imaginative and excellent. The bar was large and the cost of drinks inexpensive. The grounds were attractive with Trulli house available for those who wanted the experience of staying one. The only downside was the location - way out in the countryside - so no town to wander around at night. But it's central location was ideal for anyone touring in the area.

The celebrity chef Albert Roux was staying there - so I guess the food has to be good.
