“Quintessential Small, Boutique Hotel”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

We stayed at Le Alcove for two nights in September 2013 as part of a 9-day bike trip in Puglia. It really exemplified what we look for in a small, boutique hotel. Great environment; attentive, very nice staff; and all the small touches that you expect from a stylish hotel. The location on the hill across from the touristy trulli area was a bonus, too, and Alberobello's central square is right outside the hotel entrance, which also was a great place to be.

A well managed facility with sincere and professional customer service. Our room was well equipped with very up to date furniture and fixtures and was very clean. On arrival we were treated with a plate of fresh fruit. The in room mini bar was stocked with complimentary water and juices. The desk staff were friendly, competent and fluent in english. The front desk was staffed 24 hours.

The location of Le Alcove is great for an evening walk amongst the local folks and is close to good restaurants and the historic Trulli village. Parking is a little tight but after all that is not unusual in an Italian old town location. The hotel staff were very helpful in locating a parking spot for us in front of the hotel.

We found it convenient and easy to access other Puglia towns from Alberobello and our GPS landed us directly at the hotel doorstep based on the street address input!

The in room WiFi was free and worked well for our iPhones and iPads. Great for working out daily
travel plans.

Room Tip: We had the room just off the breakfast room. It was quite and had vert hand access to the front desk...

I am totally overwhelmed by the beauty of this first class lodging. The rooms are clean, comfortable and located right in the heart of town.Close to the trulli area and lots of restaurants nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could stay longer. The service is excellent and this is a place of dreams.Le Alcove has left a lingering memory in my heart and I will definitely return. You have to stay here to believe it.....

The good side:This hotel are converted from a trulli houses, you can experience this exotic architecture.the room has a cone shape roof and brick wall, very original.
interior is charming, neat and tidy, location is convenience situated in the town center,

The bad side: they don't have parking space, you find your own parking lot. Reception and breakfast room is in another trulli house, you need to walk a bit, room is small in size ( consider it was converted from a trulli house, ok, we accepted) reception staffs are extremely unhelpful, like an answering machine, very cold attitude.Ask them for a wifi password, never told us it is for 7 days use, after connected, we throw this slip away, the next day, we asked them for a new password slit, they refused.what a joke?
Overall, the staffs spoiled my appetite, goodbye from now, no worries, there are many other trulli hotels around.

The Alcove Hotel is situated in a quiet corner of the somewhat touristy city of Alberobello. While the room that we stayed in was pleasant I think that 300 Euros made this option an overpriced one, which in my view was not worth more than 200 Euros. Although with an extra bedroom upstairs those with two children or four persons in their party might find the price offers some value.

The front desk clerk was kind enough to have provided us with freshly cut fruit, which was certainly appreciated. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows and the toiletries were very nice as well. If you don’t mind the somewhat high price then I think you will enjoy this hotel. My husband and I are stationed in Naples and were looking for a quick weekend escape. I've always wanted to see the famous Trulli houses so we decided to go to Alberolbello. I'm usually the one who books the hotels but my husband did it this time around. I can only say, wow! what a find. From the moment we arrived the young lady at the reception desk was very professional and very nice. She checked us in, told us where to park, and took us to our room. She made sure everything was to our liking and asked us if we wanted fresh fruit for our room. In about ten minutes she was back with a beautiful fruit platter and said when we were ready she would give us advise on where to go. After getting ready, we went back to reception and she gave us a map, told us where to find all the Trullis, where to go for dinner, etc. excellent service. Our room was beautifully appointed and had a beautiful jetted tub, a luxury for us right now:-). The next morning we went to their included breakfast and it was very nice with made to order coffee, not from a self service machine but from a barista, how great is that! Overall we had a great experience and we hope to go back during cooler weather before we are transferred back to the States.

Room Tip: Rooms are by name. Some rooms have entrances outside the property. Ours was one of these but it was...

Lovely small hotel in the centre of Alberobello but away from the touristy part which made it more relaxing and special but still within walking distance of all the trulli. The hotel itself is a trullo and tastefully decorated. Breakfast in the secluded courtyard was a nice place to start the day and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Nice extras like all soft drinks in the mini bar were free and in the evenings we had some local pastries in our room. Two nights were just perfect before we moved on down south into the heel of Italy. Would recommend a stay here if visiting Puglia.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Tessitrice. Nice room just off the courtyard. The only disadvantage was if you wa...
