“"Truilli" one of the best b and b's in our experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

We spent an enchanting couple of days at Le Alcove, the best b & b we stayed at during our 3 week trip to Southern Italy. Our bedroom (suite) was quite large, rare for a b & b and it was beautifully decorated. It was extremely well-located right off the town square of Alberobello. The service, including an extremely cordial and knowledgeable staff, even surpassed all of the many other pluses; in fact, we continued to have amazing service even after we left. To explain: I forgot my jewelry, left inside an evening bag, in their safe when we left. The management was not only willing to send it to us in Los Angeles, but they worked on getting us the best possible price for this, since the original price quoted was so costly. They returned the purse intact; in addition, they fixed the damage to it that I had incurred during the trip! I don't think there are many lodging that would be willing to go to all this trouble for a guest, since it involved quite a lot of time and quite a few emails back and forth.

This is a very pretty hotel, three years old, in sixteenth century trulli, with friendly staff. We were offered a very nice fruit plate on arrival which was very refreshing after a long journey.
Buffet breakfast was OK, but the breakfast room is very small - there was a couple at the only table for four, so to accomodate our party of four there was much heaving of heavy tables. The breakfast room doubles as bar and is marred by a very distorted sound system playing pop music at the same time as the TV is showing local channels.
The bathroom was a little difficult to use, we could not get the monsoon shower to work, and there was no shelf in the shower to put shower gel when showering. If you absolutely must stay in the trulli, this is fine, but it’s expensive for what you get. Their restaurant recommendation was not very good, and they did not ask us afterwards whether we had enjoyed our meal.

My husband and I had two wonderful nights at Le Alcove ..a great place to recover from our jet lag!
Katia and Fabiana were incredibly knowledgable about restaurants to recommend as well as easy drives to the caves ( one rainy morning) and interesting Medieval towns to visit on the coast...right down to where to get the best ice cream! Highly recommend if it's within your budget!

Room Tip: We had a suite which walked straight out to alley - nice and private with a huge tub to soak after a...

We spent one night at Le Alcove and absolutely loved it. From the moment we checked in, we exerienced wonderful Italian hospitality. Katia was most gracious, and even offered us a room upgrade. We were shown to our lovely room, and gifted with a delicious fruit plate a few minutes later. Upon arriving back from dinner, there were sweets waiting for us on the table. And breakfast was delicious and served in a most relaxing atmosphere. Wish we could have stayed another night, but we were so happy to spend at least one night. Would definitely recommend to others, and would love to return someday!

Thanks so much for a memorable stay in a charming hotel/town.

We stayed at Le Alcove for 3 great nights. The room was very nice with conic roof....a real local experience. The staff was kind and very helpful all the time. Breakfast was delicious and fresh with local taste and ingredients. Will go back again definitely.

Room Tip: The Il Cantastorie room right next to the lobby entrance is great

What a pity we couldn't stay another night! Both the design and comfort are superb. The welcome is so warm and friendly. The location (!) couldn't be better. Why leave???
Wonderful! We have received great help with the parking which was of great importance. The breakfast served in a beautiful white aesthetic room was excellent. And, yes, the smile!

Le Alcove Hotel was a dream come true and the perfect way to end our three week visit to Italy! What a unique experience packed with charm, beauty, ambience and the very best of service. Fabiana and Catarina, at the front desk, could not have been more welcoming and helpful. They attended to every detail and made us feel so at home. Marliza, our server at breakfast every morning, was also truly wonderful (and so was the breakfast!). They all honored every request we made and would go above and beyond...like providing lovely little surprises of fruit, sweets, cakes, cappuchino etc. when we 'd return to our room for the night. The trulli dwellings are just precious and ingeniously designed and decorated. They are spotlessly clean, cozy yet elegant, romantic and just plain fun! If you visit Alberobello, staying at Le Alcove is a must! You will not be disappointed. Too good to be true...but it is!!!
