“I'll be back!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2011

The hotel certainly makes use of its lake side location with a large range of water sports, for example, windsurfing scuba diving and snorkelling. Furthermore the option of hiring a speedboat, pedalo or even a catamaran meant I was never bored despite travelling alone.

The hotel is very child friendly however it was not difficult in this large resort to find some peace and quiet, for example the spa and the relax pool which was more aimed at adults. In my opinion, Parco San Marco has achieved a perfect balance due to the kids’ Club being located slightly further away from the main section of the hotel. This therefore enabled the resort to keep its’ relaxed and professional atmosphere instead of turning into a Butlins’ resort.

The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and welcoming, making my stay at Parco San Marco very enjoyable. Furthermore, a vast majority of the staff across the resort could speak Italian, German and English at more than a simple basic level. Despite being fully booked and very busy, they were always happy to help with any enquiry and were highly professional.

The food at the hotel was also very good, and there was a choice of restaurants as well as a range of food available from rustic Italian to more continental. I was not disappointed!

Highly recommended!

Successful architecture, in which on the hillside above the private hotel Beach on Lake Lugano the suites spread on several houses in a beautiful, large park. So, almost all rooms / apartments have an undisturbed Lake view. In the tidiness of the whole system into all details, you will feel the proximity to the Switzerland. To buy, you can drive 2 km after Porlezza. Shopping is better in Lugano (15 km) or in Como (50 km). Here is a warm "Welcome" without attached formal friendliness. The care of the children is running optimally in the hotel. There is plenty of room for children, but also rest areas without access to children. The Buongiorno breakfast is a beautiful day start every day with its richness and atmosphere. Begins right behind the hotel a little touched Mediterranean nature, the side valleys ( e.g. Valsolda) kidnap you in a completely different life, far away from the hustle and bustle of the cities (Lugano, Como).

Dear Michaela R,
Thanks for your lovely words.
We are really proud of our subtropical park of 30.000 m², where you can do a lot of different activities. By the way a little tip: If you love the nature that much, you have to go adventure climbing in the rocks of our mountain forest. It´s a lot of fun.
We´re looking forward to see you again.

Dear Cristine

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. I am so sorry to read of your disappointment in every aspect of our hotel.

You rated our hotel 1 out 5, I would appreciate any details from you with regard to your service experience. We’re proud of our outstanding record not only on TripAdvisor, but with our repeat guests who come back time after time for our outstanding service, rooms, and amenities. That is not to disregard the issues you had with the cleanliness of your room and the service you experienced. I sincerely apologize that we weren’t able to meet, let alone exceed, your expectations. I welcome you to contact me at the hotel so I can have an opportunity to make this right.

I am very surprised to read that you did not like the food proposed at our 5 Restaurants (Gourmet, Bistro, Grotto, Pizzeria and HCP0 Wine Bar); this because you never made use of any of them during your stay. However, once you had a snack at the Lobby Bar (two focaccia). Please let me know, what was wrong with it, so I can address it immediately.

We have endless stories of amazing guest service we’ve provided our guests. Our service is one of our key ingredients to our success and we are happy to employer staff speaking several languages. Italian is spoken by all of us, however sometimes we have Trainees from different European countries which are here to learn the language. You could have asked any time for an Italian speaking receptionist to take care of you if you were looking for this type of service.
I definitely would like to know why you gave us a 2 out of 5 for service, please contact me that we can talk about your experience.

Thank you again, I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely

Just what I wanted in a hotel. Good rooms, clean and silent.
The Hotel was at the level expected: very good in paticular the breakfast with great variety, fresh juices, excellent coffee! Well appointed public areas. Good restaurant in the hotel.
Our kids had a great time at the mini club.
The spa is new and of a very high standard.
The room had really good furnitures.
First class reception desk services, employees very kind...The staff was well trained. Staff speak english french italian.
Great location!
From the resort there is a wonderfull view on lugano lake and nature all around.

This resort is in a fabulous location with wonderful views across Lake Lugarno. My wife and I (and our six year old) booked a two room apartment with half-board (breakfast and lunch) and had five great days. This is a top-notch 'family-friendly' resort, which understands how to provide a good service in a great environment. Our six year old daughter lived in the pool and we made little use of the resorts 'kids club', which is available all day for those who wish to use it. From our very brief use of this facility it appears to be more about kid-minding rather than keeping them entertained or challenged. English speakers (like us Aussies) need to be aware that German and Italian are the principle languages spoken at the resort. Notwithstanding, all staff can speak English and are very very helpful, but you need to be aware that English is the definitely the third language spoken here. But don’t be put off by this, the staff are very good and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our daughter played with a family from the Netherlands, even though the kids couldn’t understand each other! But make sure you ask lots of questions when you arrive and check-in. There is lots to do and understand as you discover during the course of your stay, so to get the most out of your stay make sure you understand what you are entitled to and how everything works from the beginning (e.g. what your board covers with respect to meals at the various restaurants at the resort).
The resort's main restaurant is very very good indeed, sadly the Italian restaurant at the resort is not up to the high standard (in fact, is pretty disappointing). The pizza restaurant down on the lake shore is a must during any stay. Eating by the lake is simply breathtaking and the little ones can run around while you wait for your pizza and enjoy a drink.
If you are driving (and coming south from Italy via Milan) do yourself a favour and don’t follow the resort’s instructions to come via Como and drive the long way around the lake (a difficult drive); rather bypass Como and drive further north into Switzerland and take the exit for Lugarno and drive a short distance around Lake Lugarno and back into Italy and to the resort.

Dear anactbloke,

thanks a lot for your lovely words: “A wonderful view from our apartment”!

Parco San Marco is in the middle of a beautiful park of 30.000 m² and consists of 111 spacious suits and apartments, all with terrace or balcony, provide an incredible view on Lake Lugano, the mountains and the forests.
The whole family can enjoy wellness and relaxation in the park, at the beach, at the Meditation Pavilion, in the hammocks, in the wellness center or while enjoying some sport activities.

See you next time.

Our family had a very pleasant stay at the Parco San Marco in June, along with some friends who also have kids. The hotel itself is very nice, with a good balance of kids' areas/facilities and adult spaces. They have a number of daily activities for kids, and on the whole the experience was very positive. The Family Rooms are spacious and convenient. During the summer, I would recommend requesting an air-conditioned room in one of the newer sections. The breakfast is excellent. Dinner at the hotel's main restaurant is rather pricey. Great place if you have kids and really want to relax.

Dear BaileySF,

thanks for your lovely words: “Very nice family hotel near Lugano”.
Our Club Bim Bam Bino is the right place for children, who love to have a lot of fun. They can play inside, supervised by our well-trained and experienced staff or outside at our Fun Pool. And while the children are at the Kidsclub, the parents can enjoy togetherness.
